Finance Analyst Team Lead (with data analysis & SQL experience)

Team Leadership
Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Finance Data Analyst team.
Monitor team deliverables and ensure work is completed accurately and within established timelines.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
Review and validate reporting, analysis, and reconciliation outputs.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex reporting, reconciliation, and data-related issues.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Support management and business stakeholders in producing analysis and reporting to drive business accountability and measure business performance against commitments and prior results.
Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and insights.
Produce and review recurring and ad hoc reports for business and finance stakeholders.
Utilize information from third parties and business units to report financial results in support of business management.
Reconciliations & Issue Resolution
Research and resolve premium, claims, and expense discrepancies between front-end systems and financial reporting systems.
Perform and oversee financial analysis, general ledger reconciliations, and account analysis.
Investigate and resolve complex data reconciliation issues.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information used in reporting.
Stakeholder Support
Develop strong working relationships with business units, operational leaders, and Finance stakeholders.
Provide assistance, reconciliations, and support as required by internal and external partners.
Serve as a key liaison between the analyst team and US Finance stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve reporting quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
Support special projects and ad hoc reporting requirements as needed.
Promote best practices, consistency, and process discipline across the team.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve data discrepancies.
Ability to understand and apply standard practices and procedures.
Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Exposure to SQL for data extraction and analysis.
Strong customer service focus.
Preferred Qualifications
Property & Casualty Insurance experience.
Experience supporting US-based stakeholders.
Experience with financial systems such as Workday or similar platforms
