Company Description SHREE KATYAYANI ENTERPRISES GOLD AND SILVER HALLMARKING CENTRE is a hallmarking facility specializing in the testing and certification of gold and silver jewelry and bullion. The center focuses on accurate assessment of precious metal purity to support transparency and trust in the jewelry trade. Role Description The Assayer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi, India. The Assayer will perform daily testing of gold and silver items using appropriate analytical methods and equipment to determine purity and fineness. Responsibilities include preparing samples, operating hallmarking and testing instruments, recording results in logs or digital systems, and ensuring proper labeling of certified items. The role also involves maintaining equipment, following safety and quality procedures, supporting audits and inspections, and coordinating with colleagues and clients to clarify test requirements or resolve discrepancies. The Assayer is expected to help maintain a clean, organized testing area and uphold regulatory and internal standards at all times.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong analytical and measurement skills, with the ability to accurately test and interpret gold and silver purity results.
Candidates should possess skills in handling laboratory or testing equipment, including calibration, routine maintenance, and safe operation of hallmarking instruments.
Candidates should possess attention to detail and documentation skills, including careful record-keeping, data entry, and labeling of tested items.
Candidates should possess basic mathematical and technical skills relevant to assaying, including understanding of weights, fineness, and tolerance limits.
Candidates should possess good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with colleagues, respond to client queries, and follow instructions clearly.
Completion of a relevant technical course or training in metallurgy, jewelry manufacturing, laboratory work, or a related field is beneficial.
Prior experience in a hallmarking center, jewelry testing lab, or precious metals industry is an advantage.
Ability to stand for extended periods, work with small objects, and follow safety guidelines, including use of protective equipment, is required.
