The Opportunity
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join Elchemy's growing team. This is a high-ownership, execution-driven role focused on building a reliable supplier network, sourcing competitive products, and ensuring the right materials are available at the right price, quality, and time. You will be responsible for identifying and developing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms, evaluating sourcing opportunities, managing procurement requirements, and working closely with sales and operations teams to support business growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys sourcing, negotiating, building supplier relationships, and solving complex procurement challenges in a fast-paced environment. You will get hands-on exposure to specialty chemicals, global sourcing, supplier development, and international trade while working closely with experienced commercial and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop suppliers: Find and evaluate new manufacturers and suppliers through industry databases, trade shows, referrals, online research, and other channels. Build a strong supplier network across geographies and product categories to support Elchemy's growing business.
Source competitively and negotiate effectively: Understand product specifications, quality requirements, availability, lead times, and market dynamics. Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and payment terms, and secure competitive procurement deals that improve margins and overall business competitiveness.
Manage end-to-end procurement: Handle sourcing requirements from initial inquiry to supplier selection, purchase order placement, and delivery coordination. Ensure materials meet customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines while proactively addressing supply-related challenges.
Build strong supplier partnerships: Develop long-term relationships with manufacturers and suppliers to improve pricing, reliability, product availability, and access to new products. Work closely with sales, operations, quality, and logistics teams to align procurement decisions with customer requirements and business priorities.
Drive procurement performance: Deliver against targets for purchase price competitiveness, gross margin improvement, supplier development, sourcing efficiency, and timely fulfillment. Maintain accurate supplier and pricing data, track market trends, and continuously identify opportunities to optimize the supply chain.
What We're Looking For
Experience: 2-5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, purchase, supply chain, or a similar role. Experience in chemicals, specialty chemicals, ingredients, or related industries is preferred.
Commercial mindset: Strong negotiation skills and an understanding of pricing, cost structures, supplier economics, and the impact of procurement decisions on business profitability.
Ownership: Someone who takes responsibility for outcomes, from identifying the right supplier to ensuring materials are procured competitively and delivered as required.
Supplier relationship management: Ability to build trust with suppliers, negotiate effectively, manage expectations, and develop long-term partnerships.
Learning agility: Curiosity and willingness to understand specialty chemicals, product applications, manufacturing processes, international sourcing, and global market dynamics.
Tech-savvy: Comfortable working with ERP/CRM systems, spreadsheets, digital sourcing tools, and data to improve procurement efficiency and decision-making.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory for candidates with strong relevant experience.
The Person We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is commercially sharp, resourceful, and relentless about finding the right sourcing opportunities. You should enjoy negotiating, building relationships with suppliers, solving supply challenges, and taking ownership of procurement outcomes. You don't need to know everything about specialty chemicals or international trade on day one. What matters more is your ability to learn quickly, think commercially, negotiate confidently, and consistently deliver results. If you enjoy finding a better supplier, securing a better price, building a reliable supply network, and directly contributing to business growth and profitability - this role is for you.
