Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Automation QA Engineer role based in Ahmedabad The Automation QA Engineer will design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to validate web and mobile applications across multiple platforms and frameworks. The role involves creating and managing test cases, executing functional, regression, and integration tests, and documenting test results in alignment with quality standards. The individual will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to identify defects, analyze root causes, and ensure timely resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include refining test coverage, contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes, and supporting release cycles through reliable test automation.
About the role
· Build and maintain test automation for web applications and REST APIs.
· Work in an Agile team alongside developers and product.
· Manual and automation testing.
Responsibilities
· Write and maintain UI and API tests using Playwright, TypeScript and Cucumber (BDD).
· Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines in Azure DevOps.
· Publish test results to Azure Test Plans, traced to user stories.
· Triage failures, log clear bugs and reduce flaky tests.
· Expand coverage across negative paths, role-based access and end-to-end flows.
· Run tests in Docker and manage test data.
Must have
· 3+ years in QA, 2+ in test automation.
· Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript.
· Cucumber / BDD (Gherkin).
· REST API testing.
· Azure DevOps pipelines and Test Plans.
· Git and Docker.
