Vice President for University Advancement

Southeastern Louisiana University seeks a dynamic, visionary, and experienced leader to serve as Vice President for University Advancement. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for University Advancement serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic leadership to advance the university’s mission, vision, and goals through philanthropic support, and alumni engagement.
This position will oversee a comprehensive advancement program, including development, alumni relations, fostering relationships that enhance the university’s profile, secure resources, and promote Southeastern’s role as a leading institution of higher education.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree required; terminal degree preferred
- Senior leadership experience in higher education, economic development, innovation, industry, government, or a related field
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, delivering measurable outcomes through partnerships, and external engagement
- Strong strategic planning, financial, negotiation, and strategic execution skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with regional public universities, economic development, and innovation ecosystems
- Track record in public-private partnerships, capital projects, and revenue-generating initiatives
- Established relationships with industry, investors, philanthropic partners, and community leaders
- Familiarity with the Southeast Louisiana region and its philanthropic community

- Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, capital campaigns, and donor relations
- Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team and foster a culture of accountability and excellence
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of advancement work
