Job Summary
The Standard India is seeking an AI / ML Engineer to join the AI Delivery team in the successful development and implementation of AI-powered workflow products at The Standard India.
You will be part of an innovative team responsible for the development and implementation of AI and ML solutions to augment business processes and empower employees. As a leader in AI initiatives, you will drive enterprise AI systems at scale, optimizing deployment patterns, ensuring scalability, and organizational innovation. You will collaborate closely with expert Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and business leaders to translate AI capabilities in durable, high-impact products. As a technical authority, you will provide architectural guidance, mentor engineers and scientists, and influence engineering standards and best practices across AI Delivery pods.
Staying current with the evolving AI landscape, you will leverage modern ML, LLM, and platform technologies to advance The Standard’s proprietary AI capabilities and foster scaled consumption of AI workflow-products. This role is foundational to building a sustained information and automation advantage through AI, while strengthening The Standard’s reputation for engineering excellence in AI Delivery.

Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role.
Mode of Working: This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While on-site presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.
Skills And Background You’ll Need
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields, or related. A Master’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 8+ years building and delivering production ML or AI systems with measurable business impact. Experience in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare) is a plus.
Demonstrated success owning and shipping multiple stable AI/ML releases in complex environments.
Advanced proficiency in Python and modern agent frameworks (e.g., Omnigent, Superpowers, LangGraph, DsPy).
Strong experience with distributed data and AI platforms (Azure, Databricks from AI perspective).
Proven expertise deploying ML systems using cloud-native and containerized architectures (Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).
Deep understanding of machine learning and AI techniques, including:
Supervised & unsupervised learning
Neural networks and deep learning
NLP and LLMs
RAG architectures, fine-tuning, and evaluation strategies
Experience designing AIOps workflows for training, deployment, monitoring, and governance.
Familiarity with unstructured data systems, search, and retrieval (text and image) is preferred.
Proven ability to mentor and guide senior technical peers through design reviews and architectural decisions.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence engineers, product partners, and leadership.
Comfort operating with autonomy and accountability in ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces.
Hands-on experience building and extending agentic systems on coding-agent harnesses (Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Codex/Agents SDK), including Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and client development, tool registries with approval workflows, function calling and structured outputs, and multi-agent orchestration patterns Advanced proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
