Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Software Full Stack Engineer to design and develop complex, highly available, distributed systems on AWS using Go, Python, and Node.js, running on Kubernetes-based platforms such as EKS and OpenShift. You will work closely with a technical lead and cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, well-tested systems, contribute to engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers as you grow your technical leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop distributed, high-availability systems in Go, Python, and Node.js
Contribute to and uphold engineering best practices and coding standards established by the team
Implement and optimize AWS infrastructure with a focus on scalability, cost, security, and resilience across EKS, OpenShift, and serverless/compute services
Build and maintain automation pipelines across CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, testing, and operations
Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to architecture discussions
Mentor junior engineers and provide constructive code review feedback
Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements
Stay current on new tools and technologies and propose adoption where there is clear value
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5–7 years of software engineering experience with meaningful exposure to distributed systems
Strong proficiency in Go and Python, with working knowledge of Node.js in polyglot service environments
Hands-on experience with AWS architecture and services, including container orchestration on EKS
Experience running and operating workloads on Red Hat OpenShift as an enterprise Kubernetes platform
Experience implementing automation frameworks and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible)
Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals: consistency models, fault tolerance, service mesh, messaging systems (Kafka, SQS/SNS), and data partitioning
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and client-facing team settings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
AI Knowledge & AI-Assisted Development (Required)
Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) across the full development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, review, and documentation
Follows and applies team-level standards for responsible AI-assisted coding, including validation rigor, security scanning of AI-generated code, and avoiding data leakage in prompts
Working knowledge of AI/LLM integration patterns for backend systems: APIs, prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and agentic workflows (e.g., MCP)
Identifies opportunities where AI-driven automation can improve engineering velocity, code quality, or operational efficiency
Ensures AI tool usage aligns with data privacy and security requirements, particularly around PHI and other sensitive health plan data
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the US health insurance or payer domain: claims, enrollment, benefits, provider networks, and HIPAA/compliance-aware system design
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI)
Prior experience in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment
