Senior Associate – Elasticsearch Developer
Experience: 4–7 years Notice Period: Immediate to 45 days (early joiners preferred) Location: PAN India Work Mode: Hybrid | Day Shift | No Travel
Role Summary
We're looking for a hands-on developer with strong expertise in HCL Commerce and Elasticsearch to build, optimize, and enhance high-performing e-commerce applications — with growing exposure to AI-powered search and automation.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain applications using HCL Commerce and Elasticsearch
Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices
Design and integrate REST APIs across commerce and search modules
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and ship new features
Optimize application performance and responsiveness; troubleshoot and resolve bugs and bottlenecks
Explore and implement AI-driven search enhancements (semantic search, personalization) under guidance
Use AI tools to improve personal development productivity (code generation, testing, documentation)
Participate actively in code reviews; uphold code quality and adherence to standards
Mentor junior developers and associates on technical tasks
Document technical specifications and communicate with stakeholders on requirements
Must-Have Skills
4–7 years of hands-on experience in HCL Commerce (WebSphere Commerce)
Strong hands-on experience with Elasticsearch (indexing, querying, performance tuning)
Strong programming skills in Java / J2EE
Working knowledge of Spring, REST APIs, and web services
Proficiency in SQL and database concepts
Proficiency in Git and CI/CD practices
Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile methodologies
Good to Have
Agentic AI exposure — understanding of AI agents, tool-calling, and RAG concepts, and their application in search/commerce
Practical familiarity with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) for coding and debugging
Knowledge of vector search / embeddings in Elasticsearch
Exposure to data governance principles
Familiarity with front-end technologies (JSP, JavaScript, Dojo) for HCL Commerce storefronts
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working independently and in teams
Proactive attitude toward learning emerging AI-driven development practices

Role Summary
We're looking for a technical and delivery leader with deep expertise in HCL Commerce and Elasticsearch to own architecture, drive AI-enabled search and commerce capabilities, and lead a team delivering high-quality, scalable applications.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end architecture and technical design for HCL Commerce and Elasticsearch-based solutions
Lead development efforts, ensuring clean, scalable, and efficient code across the team
Drive integration of REST APIs across commerce, search, and enterprise systems
Define and drive adoption of AI-driven search capabilities — semantic search, personalization, and agentic AI-based automation
Evaluate and recommend AI tools to improve team-wide development productivity
Lead code and design reviews; enforce coding and quality standards across the team
Manage project delivery — timelines, risk, and resourcing — in coordination with project management
Mentor and manage the performance of associates and senior associates
Act as primary technical point of contact for stakeholders; translate business requirements into technical solutions
Own technical documentation, standards, and best-practice governance
Stay current on HCL Commerce, Elasticsearch, and AI/agent tooling trends; guide adoption within the team
Must-Have Skills
8–10 years of experience in HCL Commerce (WebSphere Commerce), including architecture-level exposure
Strong experience with Elasticsearch at scale — cluster design, performance tuning, relevance optimization
Strong programming background in Java / J2EE (for architecture review and technical leadership)
Deep working knowledge of Spring, REST APIs, and web services
Strong SQL and database design/optimization knowledge
Proficiency in Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
Strong grasp of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and delivery management
2+ years of team management/mentoring experience
