About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

At Comoto, we serve the rider, fuel the industry, and inspire the community. But behind every great rider experience is a massive, tech-driven engine. That’s where you come in.
When our 175+ retail stores across the country encounter tech hiccups—whether a point-of-sale terminal goes dark or a label printer needs troubleshooting—our Retail IT Helpdesk is the pit crew that keeps them up and running. While you will primarily support our retail store teams, you'll also occassionally partner with our national IT team to provide remote support to our fulfillment and office based teams as needed to keep the entire Comoto crew firing on all cylinders.
We’re looking for a friendly, solution-minded Retail IT Helpdesk Support Specialist to join our close-knit IT team. If you love solving puzzles, helping store teams solve everyday tech challenges, and learning new systems, you're in the right place!
What You’ll Do:
Keep Retail Running: Diagnose and resolve an average of 40 support tickets a week, helping store managers troubleshoot network connectivity, navigate hardware, point-of-sale (POS) software, receipt printers, and barcode scanners.
Manage Access & Onboarding: Set up user accounts, manage permissions across Windows and Google Workspace (Gmail, groups, 2FA), and handle onboarding and offboarding access for team members.
Hands-On & Remote Support: Guide non-technical store staff through cable checks, router/modem power cycles, and remote switch resets to get store networks restored fast.
Hit the Road for Big Events: Travel a few times a year (typically 2–3 short trips) to provide on-site support for new store openings and occassionally major motorcycle industry events like Sturgis or Biketoberfest.
Be the Pit Crew on Duty: Participate in a scheduled emergency on-call rotation (roughly once a month) to solve high-priority store outages when they pop up
What You Bring to the Track:
Hands-On Tech Fundamentals: Solid familiarity with Windows OS, Google Workspace, basic networking (routers, modems, PoE switches), and ticketing systems.
Hardware Savvy: Comfort troubleshooting desktops (Dell/Apple), receipt printers, barcode scanners, and payment PIN pads.
Patient & Clear Communication: Ability to explain technical fixes in simple, easy-to-understand language over the phone to busy store teams.
Dedication to Integrity: Familiarity with and dedication to uphold PCI Compliance to ensure the privacy and protection of customer and team member personal information.
Adaptable & Ready to Move: Willingness to work in office, store, or warehouse environments, the ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs as needed, and travel occasionally for store launches.
Our Next IT Support Specialist Has:
1-2 years of IT helpdesk or retail technology support environment or recent IT graduate with strong customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills! You are able to guide store staff through technical troubleshooting over the phone with patience and professionalism.
Basic understanding of Windows OS, Google Workspace, local network hardware (PoE, routers, modems), and ticketing systems.
Familiarity with tag printers, barcode scanners, all-in-one printers, Dell (priority) and Apple (secondary) desktops, monitors, and biometric devices.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn while working in a team environment.
A high degree of security awareness and adherence to company best practices
The ability to prioritize, organize and execute quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment.
Superb problem-solving abilities and can manage multiple projects and problems with varying timelines and levels of priorities
The ability to travel 10% out of the year
CompTIA or other similar IT certifications are a plus
