We're hiring: Hardware Development Engineer (Electronics & Mechanical)
CarbonFuelTech is an IIT Madras-incubated startup building compact electrolyzer systems for H₂O, CO₂ and N₂ conversion. We're moving from lab-validated prototypes to systems tested in partner labs, and we need someone to build our electronic and mechanical hardware.
📍 IIT Palakkad / collaborative sites
🎓 0–2 years (freshers with strong hands-on projects welcome)
💰 ₹15,000–25,000/month, based on skills demonstrated
🕒 Full-time, 1 opening
ROLE OVERVIEW
• Design, assemble, test and debug PCBs for pump drivers, sensors and thermocouple/ADC modules
• Write firmware on ESP32, STM32 or Arduino
• Model holders and enclosures in CAD and prepare drawings for fabrication
• Keep BOMs, drawings, test reports and a lab notebook
• Build safety into the hardware: interlocks, fusing, isolation and leak detection
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical or a related field
• Basic microcontroller programming and basic 3D CAD
• Hands-on soldering and hardware debugging
• Willingness to work with chemicals and gases, wear PPE and complete lab safety induction
Preferred: KiCad/Altium, STM32, Python, 3D printing or CNC, and prior competition-team or prototype work.
