Role overview:
We are hiring an SAP Pre-Sales Consultant / Solution Architect to win and shape SAP deals across AMS, upgrades and migrations, and to build Zensar's in-house SAP IP. The role sits in the SAP Practice Pre-Sales & COE team and works closely with SAP as our alliance partner.
Purpose of the role:
Convert SAP opportunities into winning, well-priced solutions; represent Zensar credibly to customers and SAP; and turn repeatable delivery know-how into reusable IP, accelerators and offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. SAP alliance partnership
Act as the practice's day-to-day point of contact with SAP partner, account and industry teams.
Run joint go-to-market activity: co-selling, joint account plans, partner-led and SAP-led opportunity registration.
Track and use SAP partner programmes (PartnerEdge, RISE with SAP, GROW with SAP, SAP BTP) and associated funding and incentives.
Keep Zensar's partner credentials current: certified consultants, solution validations, and listings on SAP Store / Partner Finder.
Bring SAP solution experts into customer pursuits when needed, and position Zensar for SAP-referred deals.
2. Solutioning and proposals – AMS, upgrade, migration
SAP AMS: design support models (L1–L3), service catalogues, SLA/KPI frameworks, staffing pyramids, onshore–offshore mix and continuous-improvement levers.
Upgrades: scope ECC EHP and S/4HANA version upgrades, including readiness checks, custom code remediation, testing and cutover approach.
Migrations: shape ECC-to-S/4HANA conversions (brownfield, greenfield, selective/bluefield), RISE with SAP moves and cloud migrations to hyperscalers.
Lead end-to-end response to RFIs, RFPs and proactive proposals: solution, effort estimate, resource plan, timeline, assumptions, risks and commercials.
Work with Finance and Delivery on pricing models (T&M, fixed price, managed service, outcome-based) and margin targets.
Maintain a reusable library of proposal content, case studies, estimation models and win themes.
3. Customer walkthroughs and orals
Present solutions, demos and proposals to customer CXOs, IT heads and business users.
Run discovery workshops, assessments and proof-of-concepts to sharpen scope.
Lead orals, defence sessions and due-diligence calls through to contract.
Ensure a clean handover of the won deal to Delivery, with scope, assumptions and risks documented.
4. IP and in-house solution building
Identify repeatable patterns from AMS, upgrade and migration deals and turn them into IP.
Build accelerators: migration and upgrade assessment tools, custom code analysers, test automation packs, AMS monitoring dashboards, and industry templates.
Co-develop solutions on SAP BTP (extensions, integration, analytics, AI) with the COE team.
Package IP into marketable offerings with collateral, demo environments and pricing.
Explore listing suitable assets as SAP-validated solutions or on SAP Store with the alliance team.
5. Practice contribution
Support account mining and pipeline growth with Sales and Account teams.
Contribute to thought leadership: blogs, webinars, events and SAP partner forums.
Mentor junior consultants and the intern pool on solutioning and presentation skills.
Required skills and experience:
10–15 years in SAP, with at least 4 years in pre-sales, solution architecture or bid management at an SAP partner or SI.
Hands-on background in at least one SAP functional or technical area (FI/CO, SD/MM, PP/QM, Basis, ABAP, BTP).
Proven track record of winning SAP AMS, upgrade and S/4HANA migration deals, including deals above USD 1 million TCV.
Strong grasp of S/4HANA conversion approaches, RISE with SAP, SAP Activate methodology and SAP's cloud roadmap.
Experience building effort estimates, resource pyramids and commercial models for managed services and projects.
Working experience with SAP as an alliance partner: co-selling, deal registration and partner programmes.
Excellent proposal writing and storytelling; confident presenting to CXO-level audiences.
Ability to manage several pursuits at once under tight bid deadlines.
Preferred qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science; MBA preferred.
SAP certifications such as S/4HANA (functional), SAP BTP, or SAP Activate Project Manager.
RISE with SAP or SAP Cloud ALM exposure; hyperscale awareness (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Experience creating IP, accelerators or productized offerings and taking them to market.
Industry depth in one or more of: manufacturing, retail, insurance, hi-tech, utilities.
Experience with global customers across the US, UK, Europe or South Africa.
