Secondz is building software that automates complex business workflows using AI. Our product processes real-world RFQs, Excel files, PDFs, and business documents to deliver accurate and reliable results.
We are looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer who wants to strengthen their backend engineering skills by working on real product features alongside our team.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain backend APIs using Python and FastAPI.
* Build and integrate REST APIs for frontend applications.
* Work with PostgreSQL to create queries and manage application data.
* Implement request validation, error handling, and business logic.
* Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
* Assist with file upload and document-processing workflows.
* Write basic unit tests and debug backend issues.
* Collaborate with frontend and AI teams to deliver features.
* Use Git and GitHub for version control and code reviews.
* Follow clean coding practices and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills
* Basic to intermediate Python programming.
* Understanding of functions, classes, modules, and exception handling.
* Familiarity with FastAPI or Flask.
* Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON.
* Basic SQL knowledge and familiarity with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
* Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
* Understanding of environment variables and API configuration.
* Willingness to learn debugging, testing, and backend development best practices.
Good to Have
* Basic knowledge of SQLAlchemy or an ORM.
* Familiarity with Pydantic and request validation.
* Understanding of authentication and API security fundamentals.
* Basic Docker knowledge.
* Experience working with file uploads or cloud storage.
* Personal backend projects or a GitHub portfolio.
