Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CPA to support a growing public accounting practice during busy season. This contract opportunity is ideal for an active or retired CPA with a strong audit background who enjoys reviewing completed engagements, ensuring quality and compliance, and helping maintain high standards across financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed reviews of completed audit workpapers to ensure adequate supporting documentation, appropriate audit evidence, and compliance with firm policies and GAAP.
Review draft financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, and related reports for accuracy, consistency, and proper presentation.
Identify documentation gaps, accounting issues, and potential audit quality concerns.
Provide clear, actionable review notes and feedback to engagement team members.
Escalate independence concerns, quality issues, and significant findings to firm leadership.
Help ensure audit engagements meet established quality standards and seasonal deadlines.
Qualifications
Active CPA license required.
5+ years of public accounting audit experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit standards.
Prior experience performing audit quality reviews or reviewing completed engagements.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage review assignments and meet busy-season deadlines.
CIRA / HOA audit experience preferred, but not required.
