Description supplied by the original job listing.
Technical Program Manager & Chief of Staff
Ahmedabad, Gujarat | Full-time, On-site | Monday to Saturday
Experience: 1-5 years | Reports to: Founder-CEO
ABOUT SVECTOR
SVECTOR builds enterprise software and decision-intelligence systems for complex, high-stakes business and operational problems. Our work spans enterprise AI, industrial intelligence, talent intelligence and financial systems.
We are a technology company building across several industries at once. That needs people who combine real technical understanding with sound business judgment and disciplined execution.
READ THIS BEFORE YOU APPLY
This role is demanding and hands-on, and it works directly with the Founder-CEO. It is not a coordination desk, an admin role or a stepping stone for someone who wants a title without the workload. If you want a fixed routine, tasks handed to you each morning or a job where "I passed it on" counts as finished, this is not the right fit. If you want serious responsibility early and are willing to earn it, read on.
THE ROLE
You will work with the Founder-CEO on the company's most important product, technology, customer and operational initiatives. One week you may be resolving an API integration issue with engineers. The next, you may be writing a customer requirements brief, evaluating an unfamiliar technology or running a product demo.
The job in one line: understand the problem, decide what needs to happen, bring the right people together, and make sure the intended result is delivered and verified.
We do not want someone who only tracks tasks, schedules meetings, forwards instructions or writes status reports. We want someone who understands the substance of the work and owns the outcome.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Technical Program Management
- Turn broad priorities into clear workstreams with scope, milestones, owners, timelines and acceptance criteria
- Coordinate execution across Engineering, Product and business teams
- Understand the architecture well enough to spot dependencies and constraints
- Track actual delivery progress, not just reported task status
- Identify risks and blockers early and build practical recovery plans
- Facilitate decisions when teams have conflicting requirements
- Verify that finished work meets the original requirement
- Make sure every open issue has an owner, a next action and a resolution date
A program is not done when every task is marked done. It is done when the agreed outcome has been verified.
Product and Technical Execution
- Understand customer problems, user journeys and product workflows
- Work with PRDs, BRDs and functional specifications
- Understand APIs, REST endpoints, authentication, JSON and system integrations
- Trace how data moves between applications and services
- Test workflows, reproduce reported issues and document expected versus actual behaviour
- Convert customer feedback into actionable product requirements
- Validate that product changes solve the intended business problem
You are not expected to replace engineers or approve architecture. You are expected to know enough to ask informed questions and recognise when an explanation is incomplete.
Ownership and Execution
For every significant initiative you will establish what problem we are solving, what result we expect, what is known and unknown, who owns each dependency, what happens next, what could block completion and how the result will be verified.
"I sent the email", "I followed up" and "I finished my part" are not outcomes. If a customer has not responded, find out what is blocking progress and decide the next step. If an engineer is stuck, work out what they need. If a deadline becomes unrealistic, raise it early with a revised plan.
We value people who finish work without repeated reminders or constant supervision.
Research and Decision Support
- Research prospective customers, markets, competitors, technology platforms, AI systems and vendors
- Assess integration feasibility, customer economics and likely ROI
- Use original sources, verify important claims and compare conflicting information
- Clearly separate verified facts, estimates, interpretations and unknowns
- Explain what matters, what remains uncertain and what decision the findings support
Customer and Business Initiatives
- Research enterprise prospects and prepare briefings for key conversations
- Contribute to product demos and customer discovery
- Document customer requirements and prepare proposals and commercial material
- Support pilots, proof-of-concept work and implementation planning
- Make sure every customer conversation ends with clear next actions and accountable owners
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Maintain clear records of commitments, owners and deadlines
- Prepare concise decision briefs and execution updates
- Clarify decision rights and escalate issues that need leadership input
- Support selected hiring research, interview preparation and onboarding
Coordination does not mean authority over other functions. You will respect decision rights and escalate anything that needs formal approval.
HOW WE EXPECT YOU TO WORK
AI-native: You should already use tools like ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for research, analysis and documentation. You remain fully responsible for the output: validate it, correct errors, spot unsupported assumptions and explain your reasoning without the tool. Confidential company, customer or employee information must never go into unauthorised external systems.
Communication: Your writing must be clear, accurate and usable without heavy rewriting. When you report a problem, give the situation, the evidence, the business impact and your recommended next step. Do not alter approved commercial representations or instructions without authorisation.
Judgment and integrity: You will handle sensitive company, customer and personnel information. We expect reliability, honest reporting of mistakes and missed deadlines, independent problem-solving before escalating, strict confidentiality and respect for decision rights. Raise well-reasoned objections, and once a decision is made, help execute it professionally.
WHO YOU ARE
Experience: 1-5 years in a relevant role such as Technical Program Management, Associate Product Management, Product Operations, Technical Business Analysis, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, SaaS Implementation, Technical Presales or Startup Operations. Prior Chief of Staff experience is not required.
Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science or a related field is strongly preferred. Candidates from other backgrounds with substantial technical fluency and relevant experience will also be considered.
Essential
- Technical fluency in software, APIs, integrations and data flows
- Product thinking: how functionality connects to user problems and business outcomes
- The ability to take work from an unclear starting point to a verified result
- Analytical reasoning and fast learning in unfamiliar domains
- Strong written communication
- Cross-functional effectiveness without formal authority
Advantages
- Enterprise SaaS or AI-powered software experience
- REST APIs, JSON, SQL or integration workflows
- Jira, Linear, Notion or similar tools
- PRD and BRD writing, customer pilots and implementation management
- Experience working closely with founders or senior leaders
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Over time you will be able to:
1. Understand an unfamiliar product and explain its workflows, dependencies and limitations accurately
2. Turn an ambiguous business goal into a practical execution plan
3. Investigate blockers independently and coordinate stakeholders without constant intervention
4. Own commitments and deadlines reliably
5. Flag risks before they become preventable failures
6. Verify outcomes instead of relying on reported status
7. Take on increasingly complex initiatives as you prove your capability
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- A personal assistant or calendar-management position
- A conventional project-tracking role
- A presentation-making role
- A purely theoretical strategy or research role
- A full-time software development role
- A title that automatically carries managerial or approval authority
