AI/ML Engineer

About the Role
AtlasAdvancement, Inc. is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to develop full-stack applications supporting federal technology initiatives. This role combines generative AI, API development, database integration, and modern web technologies to deliver secure, scalable software solutions.
You will collaborate with data science and prototyping teams to develop AI-enabled applications, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver working solutions in an Agile software development environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop custom software applications supporting AI/ML pilot programs and use cases, including generative AI technologies such as Google Gemini.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs, including authentication, data formats, and error handling.
Evaluate SQL and NoSQL database technologies and select appropriate solutions based on application requirements.
Integrate relational and NoSQL databases into applications where appropriate while following database security best practices.
Collaborate with prototyping teams to develop and deliver working software solutions on accelerated timelines.
Solve complex technical challenges using appropriate technologies, methodologies, tools, and software components.
Participate throughout the Agile development lifecycle, including release planning, sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
Work with data science teams to integrate applications with AI/ML, big data, and business intelligence solutions.
Contribute to secure and scalable application development across frontend, backend, API, and database components.
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizenship and the ability to successfully complete the required federal background investigation.
Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience, or equivalent.
Experience evaluating complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions in a fast-paced software prototyping environment.
Experience with multiple development languages and technologies, including YAML, JSON, Python, Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Full-stack development experience, including frontend development with Angular and backend development involving user interfaces, servers, and databases.
Experience collaborating with data science teams to integrate applications with AI/ML, big data, or business intelligence solutions.
Ability to independently manage complex technical assignments with limited direction or oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with live data or video streams.
Technical certifications, such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD platforms such as GitLab.
Experience developing AI/ML or advanced predictive analytics solutions.
Experience working with geographically dispersed or remote teams.
Knowledge of data science principles and best practices.
