Community Advisory Board Member 2027 - TELUS Local Content

Since 2022, our TELUS Local Content community boards have moderated 2,400+ funding applications from local content creators. Now we’re looking for new voices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton to join them.
About the role
The TELUS Local Content Community Advisory Board (CAB) gives community members in Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton a voice in what TELUS STORYHIVE, TELUS Originals and our community programs fund and produce. Members review funding applications, share what local audiences want to see, and weigh in on authentic representation, accessibility and inclusion.
We’re now recruiting our 2027 cohort: 15 members each from Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.
What you’ll do
Moderate applications: Review STORYHIVE and TELUS Originals funding applications to help shape what moves forward
Join workshops: Share your perspective in community listening and resource-building sessions with the Local Content team
Be an ambassador: Share our programs and content with your networks throughout the year, using a ready-made promo toolkit

Time commitment
7 sessions over the year, all virtual via Zoom (about 14.5 hours total):
Orientation (mandatory, 1.5 hrs): week of January 18, 2027
4 moderation sessions (2.5 hrs each), tentative weeks:
STORYHIVE Video Podcasts: January 25
STORYHIVE Digital Series: March 15
STORYHIVE Films: June 7
TELUS Originals: August 30
2 workshops (1.5 hrs each): spring and fall, dates TBD
Honorarium for your time
$200 per moderation cycle and $120 for orientation and each workshop, paid quarterly
1-year term, with the option to extend
Member perks such as potential film festival tickets and invites to community screenings and events
Who we’re looking for
Rooted in the Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton region
Open to everyone, from media industry leaders to everyday film lovers
A mix of ages, industries, demographics, communities and networks
Past members have included professors, executive directors, artists, authors and retirees
