Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Node.js Developer role based in Surrey, BC. The Node.js Developer will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and APIs that support Kapido’s travel products and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient JavaScript code, integrating with front-end components, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting issues across the stack. The role also involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver secure, scalable solutions and participating in code reviews and continuous improvement of development practices.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Back-End Web Development and Software Development skills, with hands-on experience building Node.js applications and RESTful APIs.
Candidates should possess solid Front-End Development skills, including JavaScript and Redux.js, to integrate server-side logic with user-facing features.
Candidates should possess proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), version control tools (e.g., Git), and familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases.
Candidates should possess skills in debugging, testing, and performance optimization to ensure reliability and scalability of applications.
Relevant qualifications include experience working in agile teams, strong communication and collaboration abilities, and a degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (e.g., Docker), and knowledge of security best practices in web development is beneficial.
