4G RF Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and optimization of Radio Frequency (RF) circuits and hardware components for 4G LTE wireless communication systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, cost-effective, and reliable RF designs for base stations (eNodeB), small cells, or user equipment (UE).
Key Responsibilities
RF Circuit Design & Development
Design and develop RF front-end architectures operating in 4G LTE frequency bands.
Select, analyze, and integrate RF components including Power Amplifiers (PA), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA), Mixers, Filters, Duplexers, and Synthesizers.
Perform schematic capture and guide PCB layout designers on high-speed RF grounding, isolation, and impedance matching.
Conduct link budget analysis, cascaded noise figure, and linearity simulations.
Testing, Verification & Debugging
Perform hands-on board bringing-up, tuning, and optimization of RF circuits.
Measure and verify key RF parameters such as EVM, ACLR, Rx Sensitivity, Tx Power, and Phase Noise using laboratory equipment.
Debug RF performance anomalies, desense issues, and electromagnetic interference (EMI/EMC) challenges.
Collaboration & Compliance
Collaborate with antenna, digital hardware, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Ensure designs comply with 3GPP standards and regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, etc.).
Document design specifications, test plans, and manufacturing guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Technical Skills
Simulation Tools: Proficiency in RF simulation tools like ADS (Advanced Design System), HFSS, or Microwave Office.
Lab Equipment: Advanced skill in operating Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers (VNA), Signal Generators, and Oscilloscopes.
Standards Knowledge: Deep understanding of 3GPP 4G LTE standards, modulation schemes (QAM, QPSK), and MIMO technology.
PCB Design: Strong understanding of RF PCB stack-up, microstrip/stripline design, and transmission line theory.
