Role Description The Senior Student Counselor | Study Abroad role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The counselor will guide students through the end-to-end study abroad process, including profiling, course and university selection, application preparation, and documentation. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, explaining admission and visa requirements, coordinating with universities and other partners, and tracking each student’s application status. The role involves supporting students with test preparation guidance (such as IELTS), organizing information sessions, maintaining accurate records in internal systems, and following up with prospective students and families. The counselor will also contribute to improving counseling processes, collaborating with colleagues, and helping achieve team enrollment and conversion targets.
Qualifications
Strong counseling and advisory skills, including student guidance, needs assessment, and empathetic communication.
Experience with overseas education processes such as university admissions, course selection, and application documentation.
Knowledge of visa procedures and regulations for key destinations like the UK and Canada, including timelines and documentation requirements.
Ability to explain and advise on test preparation pathways (e.g., IELTS coaching) and eligibility criteria.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interact with students, families, and institutional partners.
Organizational and time-management abilities, including record-keeping, follow-up, and managing multiple student cases simultaneously.
Comfort with using computers and digital tools, such as CRM systems, spreadsheets, and online communication platforms.
Prior experience in education consulting, study abroad counseling, or student services is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in any discipline; specialization in education, counseling, or related fields is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad, collaborate with a team, and meet performance and service-quality goals.
