ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a leading global multinational organization, is seeking an Security Automation Engineer/ SRE to join its engineering team.
This role focuses on the operational health, reliability, resilience, and continuous improvement of critical platforms and services supporting global operations.
This is an engineering-focused position rather than a traditional support role. You will perform technical root-cause analysis, troubleshoot integrations, develop automation, improve observability, and implement sustainable solutions to enhance platform stability and operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the operational health, reliability, and resilience of critical platforms and services during assigned operational hours.
Monitor production services and respond to failed, stalled, delayed, or degraded workflows.
Troubleshoot production issues across applications, integrations, APIs, and supporting platforms.
Investigate root causes of recurring operational failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
Develop and enhance scripts, integrations, and automation components to improve operational efficiency.
Improve monitoring, alerting, health checks, and observability for critical services.
Analyze system performance metrics and identify reliability risks and opportunities for improvement.
Create and maintain operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and resolve operational issues.
Participate in root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews for significant operational events.
Identify opportunities to reduce operational overhead through automation and process improvement.
Support platform upgrades, maintenance activities, deployment efforts, and infrastructure changes.
Utilize Git and GitLab for source control, deployment management, and change management.
Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools such as Kiro, Claude, Codex, and similar technologies to improve troubleshooting and engineering productivity.
Contribute to reliability standards covering monitoring, failover, retries, timeout handling, and operational resilience.
Participate in global on-call coverage for critical services.
Maintain documentation covering system behaviour, operational procedures, dependencies, and support processes.
Cross-train with team members to ensure operational expertise is distributed across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
8+ years of experience in production engineering, automation engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or a related technical field.
Experience supporting business-critical production systems.
Strong Python scripting and automation experience is a must.
Experience troubleshooting APIs, integrations, authentication mechanisms, system dependencies, and production services.
Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability platforms.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently investigate complex production issues.
Experience using Git and GitLab-based development workflows.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability to coordinate technical activities across global teams and time zones.
Willingness to participate in a global on-call rotation.
