About DietIQ
DietIQ is an AI-powered nutrition app that makes healthy eating and exercise fun, enjoyable and easy to follow. Members get personalized meal plans, meal tracking by photo, an AI coach on WhatsApp, and doctor-created programmes for type 2 diabetes, PCOS, fatty liver and weight management. We’re a Waterloo-based team on a mission to help people fight lifestyle diseases.
About the role
The DietIQ app does the heavy lifting. It tracks every client’s meals, calories, protein, fiber, fat, steps and workouts. Your job is to turn that data into results. You’ll teach clients how to track consistently, help them understand their daily targets, and adjust their plan based on what the numbers show. You’ll work online through NutriAdmin, DietIQ’s platform for nutrition professionals. Many of our clients are South Asian professionals, so you’ll often adapt plans to Indian and other South Asian home cooking.
What you’ll do
Coach clients to track their meals every day in the DietIQ app, by photo or text
Explain each client’s daily targets for calories, protein, fiber and fat, and why those targets fit their goals and health conditions
Set daily activity goals, such as steps, walking and exercise, and explain how activity fits with their calorie targets
Review each client’s tracked data in NutriAdmin before every visit, and adjust their targets and plan based on results
Run a monthly online visit with each client to review progress and set goals for the next month
Tailor targets and plans for type 2 diabetes, PCOS, fatty liver, obesity, family and children’s nutrition, and sports nutrition, working alongside each client’s doctor
Show clients how to hit their targets with the foods they already eat, including vegetarian, regional and festival foods
Give nutrition guidance to clients on weight-loss medication, such as protein targets and managing side effects, in coordination with their prescriber
Answer questions passed on by our client care team between visits
Keep clear client records that meet College of Dietitians of Ontario standards
Issue receipts for your visits so clients can claim them through their insurance
What we’re looking for
Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
Professional liability insurance, or willingness to get it
Strong knowledge of calorie and macronutrient targets, and how to explain them simply
Strong knowledge of nutrition for type 2 diabetes, PCOS, fatty liver and obesity
Comfort reviewing food tracking and activity data, and coaching clients from it
Familiarity with South Asian cuisines and eating habits, or a willingness to learn them quickly
Up to date on weight-loss medications and how nutrition supports them
Working knowledge of exercise and activity for weight management
Comfortable using apps, online platforms and video calls
Results-oriented, with a warm, encouraging style
Nice to have
Deep experience with Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan or Bangladeshi diets
Speaks Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati or another South Asian language
Experience with app-based or online coaching
Certified Diabetes Educator designation, or a personal training or fitness certification
What you’ll get
A fair rate for every visit, with note-writing included
Fully flexible hours and fully remote work
Clients who arrive with their data already tracked, so visits focus on results
A client care team that handles scheduling and check-ins
The chance to shape a growing health company from the start
How to apply
Send your résumé and your College of Dietitians of Ontario registration number. In a few sentences, tell us how you’d help a South Asian client with type 2 diabetes understand their daily calorie and protein targets and stick to them.
DietIQ welcomes applicants of all backgrounds. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
