About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Fintoo is looking for a senior leader to take end-to-end ownership of its client renewal and retention function — a business-critical revenue stream built on long-term advisory relationships. This is a newly created leadership role for someone who can bring structure, commercial discipline, and a genuine ownership mindset to how the firm retains, renews, and grows its existing client base.
The mandate is broad and high-impact: build the strategy, process, and team capability required to run renewals as a disciplined, forecastable business function, with direct visibility to the CEO.
About the Role
The VP – Advisory, Financial Planning & Business will be responsible for building and leading Fintoo's integrated Advisory business, with ownership of both client acquisition and existing client servicing.
The individual will lead and manage the Acquisition and Financial Planning / Analyst teams, drive new business and revenue, oversee the quality of financial planning and client servicing, and ensure a seamless journey from prospect acquisition to long-term client engagement.
This is a leadership role requiring a combination of business development, financial planning expertise, client management and people leadership. The individual will be expected to drive business personally as well as through the team, while maintaining high standards of advisory quality and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end renewal and client retention strategy, including forecasting, planning cadence, and execution discipline across the client book.
Design and institutionalise structured processes and standard operating procedures for client renewal conversations, escalations, and account management.
Review existing client fee and plan structures for consistency and fairness, and lead corrective governance where required.
Set and drive performance targets for the renewals and servicing team; build capability, coach for consistent execution, and manage performance rigorously.
Partner closely with new-client acquisition and compliance functions to ensure a seamless client lifecycle and full regulatory alignment.
Report renewal and retention performance directly to the CEO, with clear forward visibility on risks and opportunities.
Candidate Profile
10+ years of experience in wealth management, financial services, or insurance, with substantial exposure to client retention, renewals, or persistency management as a core business responsibility.
A strong track record of building structured processes and driving measurable performance improvement through a team.
Comfortable owning commercial outcomes and being held accountable for them — a business-owner mindset rather than a purely operational one.
Strong analytical orientation, with the ability to translate data into action and forward planning.
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing and developing client-facing teams.
Working knowledge of SEBI-regulated advisory or wealth management environments is preferred
Must-Have Profile
• 8–12+ years of experience in Financial Planning, Wealth Management, Investment Advisory, RIA, PMS or related BFSI businesses.
• Proven experience in client acquisition, sales and revenue generation within financial services.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience in financial planning and wealth management.
• Experience handling HNI / UHNI clients and complex advisory requirements.
• Proven experience managing and leading sales/acquisition as well as financial planning/advisory teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage business targets while maintaining strong client servicing and advisory quality.
• Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, retirement planning, taxation, risk management and investment products.
• Strong commercial, analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Strong process orientation with the ability to build scalable teams and processes.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Qualification & Certifications
• MBA / Postgraduate in Finance – preferred.
• NISM XA & XB – Mandatory.
• CFP / CFA / CWM – added advantage.
• Strong understanding of SEBI-RIA regulations and advisory best practices. What Success Looks Like
• High-quality and timely financial planning and client servicing.
• Strong retention and engagement of existing clients.
• Clear coordination between sales, planning and servicing functions.
• Improved productivity, processes and overall client experience.
• Sustainable and profitable growth of the Advisory SBU.
