Role Description
The Head of Technology is responsible for leading the organization's technology strategy, overseeing IT operations, and driving digital transformation initiatives that support business objectives. This role ensures that technology infrastructure, systems, and digital solutions remain secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities. The Head of Technology works closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation, improve operational efficiency, and deliver sustainable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement technology strategies, roadmaps, and policies aligned with business goals and long-term organizational growth.
Lead technology teams responsible for infrastructure, software development, systems administration, cybersecurity, and technical support.
Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of technology systems and digital platforms.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve productivity, service quality, and business performance.
Establish technology standards, architecture principles, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability.
Manage IT budgets, technology investments, vendor relationships, procurement activities, and resource allocation.
Ensure the security, availability, reliability, and performance of business systems, networks, applications, and databases.
Develop cybersecurity strategies, risk management procedures, data protection measures, and incident response plans.
Oversee technology projects from planning and implementation through testing, deployment, and performance evaluation.
Collaborate with business departments to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Lead digital transformation initiatives, automation projects, and system integration efforts to streamline business processes.
Establish performance indicators and service standards to measure technology effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Ensure technology practices comply with applicable regulations, data privacy requirements, security policies, and internal controls.
Guide system upgrades, cloud adoption, infrastructure improvements, and technology modernization initiatives.
Promote collaboration, technical development, accountability, and continuous learning within technology teams.
Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, service providers, and strategic partners.
Develop business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and system restoration plans to minimize operational disruption.
Monitor technology trends, industry developments, and potential risks to support informed strategic decision-making.
Present technology performance reports, investment proposals, project updates, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
A postgraduate qualification in technology management, business administration, or a relevant technical field is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, software systems, cloud computing, networking, and enterprise technology platforms.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles, data protection, IT governance, and technology risk management.
Excellent leadership, strategic planning, communication, and decision-making skills.
Ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives and organizational priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on practical and scalable solutions.
