Mechanical Design Executive

Department: Engineering / Design | Designation: Mechanical Design Executive
1. Job Purpose
To design, develop, and modify mechanical components, products, and assemblies as per customer requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, and company procedures.
2. Key Responsibilities
. Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and products.
. Develop engineering drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
. Prepare detailed drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and surface finish requirements.
. Develop new products and modify existing designs as per customer requirements.
. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and design documentation.
. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, and R&D departments for design feasibility and implementation.
. Ensure designs meet applicable quality standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
. Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.
. Review drawings before releasing them for production.
. Identify design-related problems and implement corrective actions.
. Maintain drawing revisions, engineering records, and design change documentation.
. Provide technical support to production during manufacturing and assembly.
3. Educational Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Additional CAD design certification will be an advantage.
4. Required Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid edge or equivalent CAD software.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and fits.
- Understanding of BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
. 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting.
* Freshers with good CAD knowledge may also be considered, depending on company requirements.
