Role Description The NEW FABRIC DEVELOPER role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ichalkaranji. The person in this role will research trends, fibers, and weaving techniques to create new fabric concepts aligned with customer and market requirements. Responsibilities include developing fabric samples, collaborating with production teams to test and refine constructions, and ensuring quality, durability, and cost-effectiveness of new fabrics. The role also involves maintaining detailed development records, coordinating with sourcing and sales teams, and supporting continuous improvement in fabric performance and innovation on the factory floor.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of textile fibers, yarns, fabric structures, and finishing processes.
Experience in fabric development, sampling, and laboratory or mill trials.
Ability to analyze market trends and customer requirements and translate them into fabric concepts.
Attention to detail with sound understanding of quality standards and testing methods.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with production, sourcing, and sales teams.
Proficiency in basic computer tools and comfort with documenting technical specifications and reports.
Diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience in a weaving or textile mill environment in or around Ichalkaranji is an advantage.
