About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
ROLE OVERVIEW • Act as the PeopleSoft Sales domain Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the data platform modernization program. • Provide deep functional and technical knowledge of PeopleSoft Order Management, Billing, Pricing, Contracts, and related Sales modules. • Drive source-to-target mapping from PeopleSoft Sales tables to the canonical enterprise data model for Sales 360 data products. • Collaborate with business SMEs (Sales VPs, Directors, Territory Managers) to validate business rules, KPIs, and reporting logic. • Support the data engineering team in building accurate, high-quality data pipelines from PeopleSoft Sales modules into the GCP data lake. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. PeopleSoft Functional & Technical Expertise • Provide end-to-end functional expertise across PeopleSoft Order Management, Billing, Pricing, Contracts, Customer Management, and related Sales modules. • Explain PeopleSoft Sales module configurations, setups, business processes, and transaction flows in the context of specific implementation. • Identify and document PeopleSoft customizations, bolt-Ons, and extensions that impact Sales data structures and business logic. • Map PeopleSoft Sales transactions end-to-end — from order entry through fulfilment, billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition. • Articulate how -specific business rules (territory assignments, pricing tiers, distributor hierarchies, warranty/guarantee logic) are implemented in PeopleSoft. 2. Enterprise Data Modelling & Source-to-Target Mapping • Lead source-to-target mapping (STM) for PeopleSoft Sales tables to the canonical Sales 360 enterprise data model. • Document PeopleSoft record definitions, field structures, translate/prompt tables, tree structures, and SetID-based configurations for Sales modules. • Identify primary keys, foreign keys, join conditions, and cardinality across PeopleSoft Sales tables. • Define data dictionaries and business glossaries for all Sales-related PeopleSoft fields being mapped to the data lake. • Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) team to validate entity relationships, resolve naming conflicts, and ensure source-agnostic harmonization. 3. Data Product Design & Validation • Support the design and validation of 57 Sales 360 data products — including Orders, Pricing, Territory, Warranty Claims, Sales Hierarchy, Contractor Certifications, and Leads. • Validate transformation logic, business rules, and calculated fields as PeopleSoft Sales data moves through Raw → Transform → DaaP layers. • Perform source-to-target reconciliation to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and consistency between PeopleSoft source and data lake targets. • Support UAT by providing expected results, test scenarios, and validation criteria based on PeopleSoft Sales business logic. • Define data quality rules (null checks, referential integrity, value range validation) specific to PeopleSoft Sales datasets. 4. Cross-System Harmonization • Collaborate on the PeopleSoft-to-SAP S/4HANA data merge strategy for Sales entities — defining which source masters each field, handling ID crosswalks, and resolving conflicting business rules. • Support harmonization of Sales data across PeopleSoft, SAP, and Salesforce CRM into a unified canonical model. • Map PeopleSoft Sales hierarchies (territory, customer, product) to the enterprise-wide hierarchy model. • Support Salesforce Data Cloud integration readiness by mapping PeopleSoft CRM-adjacent data (Leads, Contacts, Opportunities) to Salesforce object models. 5. AI Tools & Modern Discovery • Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to accelerate discovery of PeopleSoft configurations, customizations, and data flows. • Use AI tools to reverse-engineer undocumented PeopleSoft implementations — including stored procedures, SQR programs, Application Engine logic, PeopleCode, and integration points. • Apply AI-assisted techniques for automated documentation generation, code analysis, and schema discovery to reduce manual investigation time. • Proactively explore how AI can accelerate source-to-target mapping, data profiling, and anomaly detection across PeopleSoft datasets. 6. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication • Interface directly with leadership — including VPs, Directors, and Senior Managers — to gather requirements, validate business rules, and present findings. • Translate complex PeopleSoft technical concepts into business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders. • Participate in solution forums, design reviews, sprint demos, and steering committee meetings as the domain authority. • Collaborate with Kloud9 data engineers, data architects, data analysts, and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of PeopleSoft business logic in the new data lake. • Produce clear, comprehensive documentation — including functional specification documents (FSDs), data dictionaries, business glossaries, and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs). DOMAIN-SPECIFIC PEOPLESOFT KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED The candidate must demonstrate deep, hands-on expertise in the following PeopleSoft Sales areas: Order Management & Fulfilment • PeopleSoft Order Management module — sales orders, order types, order lines, order status lifecycle, order holds, and fulfilment processing. • Tables: PS_ORD_HEADER, PS_ORD_LINE, PS_ORD_SCHEDULE, PS_ORD_LINE_SHIP, PS_DEMAND_INF and related order tables. • Order-to-cash (O2C) process flow — from order capture through picking, shipping, delivery, and invoice generation. • Backlog management, available-to-promise (ATP), and delivery scheduling logic. Billing & Invoicing • PeopleSoft Billing module — billing plans, bill headers, bill lines, invoice generation, pro-forma billing, and credit/debit memos. • Tables: PS_BI_HDR, PS_BI_LINE, PS_BI_LINE_DST, PS_PENDING_ITEM, and related billing/AR tables. • Integration between Order Management and Billing — how fulfilled orders trigger billing events. • Revenue recognition rules and their implementation in PeopleSoft.
