Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Laptop and Computer Hardware Technician, based in Trivandrum, with some work-from-home flexibility for suitable tasks. The technician will diagnose and repair laptops and desktop computers, including hardware components, peripherals, and basic networking equipment. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, performing RAM and SSD upgrades, assembling and configuring PCs, installing and configuring operating systems and essential software, and supporting Windows and Mac environments. The role also involves handling virus and malware removal, basic data recovery operations, printer servicing, and assisting with CCTV, network, and internet setup as needed. The technician will interact directly with customers, document work performed, maintain service records, and ensure timely, accurate, and professional support at the clinic and on-site locations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong hardware service skills, including laptop and desktop diagnosis, component-level repair, RAM and SSD upgrades, and PC assembly.
Candidates should possess solid software and OS skills, such as Windows and Mac troubleshooting, OS installation, driver management, and basic application support.
Candidates should possess network and peripheral support skills, including basic LAN/Wi-Fi setup, printer repair and maintenance, and familiarity with CCTV and related devices.
Candidates should possess problem-solving and customer service skills, including clear communication, ability to explain technical issues simply, and a focus on customer satisfaction.
Candidates should possess organizational and safety skills, including careful handling of components, adherence to ESD and safety practices, and accurate documentation of work.
Relevant technical diploma, certification, or coursework in computer hardware, networking, or IT support is preferred.
Prior experience in computer hardware servicing or field support, particularly in Trivandrum or nearby areas, will be an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Trivandrum on a regular basis, with reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn new technologies.
