OpenShift Engineer ( 5+ YOE )

LogicHive is currently managing the recruitment process on behalf of one of our esteemed clients for an experienced OpenShift Engineer.
We are looking for a skilled professional with strong expertise in Red Hat OpenShift administration, Kubernetes, bare-metal Linux infrastructure, and automation to manage and optimize enterprise container platforms. The role involves administering OpenShift clusters, ensuring platform reliability, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and implementing automation and GitOps practices.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in OpenShift cluster installation, upgrades, patching, scaling, RHEL administration, Ansible automation, and ArgoCD, along with a strong understanding of production infrastructure operations and platform security.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, administer, upgrade, patch, and scale Red Hat OpenShift clusters in bare-metal Linux environments.
Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes and OpenShift infrastructure, including containerized workloads.
Perform Linux (RHEL) administration, system configuration, performance tuning, and infrastructure maintenance.
Develop and maintain automation workflows using Ansible for provisioning, configuration management, and patching.
Implement and manage GitOps workflows using ArgoCD.
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues involving Linux operating systems, networking, storage, and containerized applications.
Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
Ensure platform security, compliance, system hardening, and adherence to operational best practices.
Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Support production infrastructure, resolve incidents, and ensure platform availability and reliability.
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to maintain stable and scalable enterprise platforms.

Preferred Skills
Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or OpenShift Administration certifications.
Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton, or Azure DevOps.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, and Splunk.
Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and CRI-O.
Experience with Ceph, OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), and SAN/NAS storage.
Exposure to Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) and multi-cluster OpenShift environments.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Proficiency in Shell scripting and/or Python scripting.
Experience in Production Support or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) environments, including incident management and SLA adherence.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with 8–10+ years of overall IT/infrastructure experience preferred as specified in the detailed job description.
Strong hands-on experience in Red Hat OpenShift administration and production support.
Experience deploying and managing OpenShift clusters on bare-metal Linux infrastructure.
Expertise in OpenShift installation, upgrades, scaling, patching, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of RHEL/Linux administration and Kubernetes orchestration.
Hands-on experience with Ansible automation and ArgoCD-based GitOps workflows.
Proven troubleshooting capabilities across Linux, networking, storage, and container environments.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging, security compliance, and operational documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
Position Details

Interview Process: Two technical rounds followed by an HR round
Candidates with strong hands-on experience managing production OpenShift clusters on bare-metal infrastructure, combined with expertise in Ansible, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, and RHEL administration, will be given priority. Immediate joiners who are comfortable working from the Pune office five days a week and adhering to the specified shift timings are preferred.
