Most hotels in India don't fail on strategy. They fail on the fourth floor at 11pm — when the housekeeping attendant forgets the amenity list, when the F&B intern skips the temperature log, when the night desk closes out a checkout without the deposit note.
Focus Realm is the operating standards platform for Indian hospitality. SOPs, training, and compliance — running on the phones your team already carries, in the languages they actually speak.
Why we exist
Standards protect the guest, the brand, the star rating, the FSSAI license. And yet in most Indian hotels they live as PDFs on WhatsApp, day-one classroom sessions that fade inside a week, and a ring-binder audit file nobody wants to open. When 40–60% of the front line rotates in a year, whatever standards you had in January are unrecognisable by August.
We're not here to sell one more LMS. We're building the operating layer that keeps standards alive between audits — for the housekeeper on shift, the GM three properties away, and the corporate trainer trying to keep two hundred rooms in line.
What Focus Realm does
One system, three portals — each shaped to the person using it.
→ Employee — mobile-first, multilingual SOPs and training. The right procedure for the task in front of you, and a completion tap that goes on record.
→ Manager — property-level visibility. Where's the drift, who needs a refresher, what will the auditor find on Tuesday.
→ Author — corporate authoring. Write standards once, publish them across the group, version everything, and see who's actually running them.
Role Description
Focus Realm | Remote | Unpaid | 3 Months
About the Role
Focus Realm is looking for research-oriented individuals to investigate real-world industry pain points, market gaps, and business challenges. Interns will conduct in-depth research and develop research papers and articles for publication as part of Focus Realm's proprietary research portfolio.
Research Domains
Marketing, Business Strategy, Finance, Management, Human Resources, Hospitality, Education, and other relevant industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Research industry challenges, market trends, and existing solutions.
- Analyze competitors, business practices, and market opportunities.
- Write descriptive research papers and informative, evidence-backed articles.
- Maintain credible references, research documentation, and factual accuracy.
- Present progress during alternate-day meetings and incorporate feedback.
Work Structure
- Duration: 3 months, extendable to 6 months.
- Commitment: 1-2 hours daily, 5 days a week.
- Mode: Remote.
- Meetings: Alternate working days.
- Compensation: Unpaid internship.
Expected Deliverables
Over three months, interns are expected to work towards:
- 1–2 descriptive research papers.
- 2–4 articles published through Focus Realm's official platforms.
Publication is subject to quality review and approval.
Eligibility
Students, graduates, and aspiring researchers with strong analytical thinking, writing skills, attention to detail, and an interest in industry research are welcome. Prior experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
