We’re looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join our Digital & Technology Infrastructure Delivery team.
You’ll take ownership of delivering technology projects from initiation through to implementation and handover, working across internal technology teams, business stakeholders and external partners. This is a hands-on delivery role where you’ll be responsible for bringing structure to complex projects, driving progress and ensuring successful outcomes.
Your Role
As an IT Project Manager, you will:
Lead projects end-to-end, taking ownership of scope, plans, milestones, budgets, resources and delivery outcomes.
Develop and maintain clear, realistic project plans, actively managing progress against agreed timescales and deliverables.
Own project governance, including risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, decisions and RACI, ensuring these are actively managed rather than simply reported.
Provide clear and concise project status reporting, ensuring Sponsors and key stakeholders understand progress, risks, decisions and actions required.
Identify and proactively manage risks, issues and blockers, escalating where appropriate and driving them through to resolution.
Manage project budgets and financials, including forecasting, tracking spend and identifying potential financial risks.
Coordinate delivery across multiple internal teams, technology functions, suppliers and third parties.
Manage dependencies across projects and programmes, aligning timescales, resources and delivery plans.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, constructively challenging where necessary to maintain momentum and achieve successful outcomes.
Manage third-party suppliers against agreed deliverables, milestones and dependencies.
Ensure solutions are delivered into a fully supportable operational state, including appropriate transition and handover to Service teams.
Maintain high standards of delivery governance while adapting your approach to suit the scale, complexity and needs of each project.
About You
You’ll be an experienced Project Manager with a strong track record of successfully delivering IT or technology projects.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has demonstrable experience of end-to-end project delivery within a complex organisation.
Has experience delivering Technology Infrastructure projects, or similarly complex technical change.
Is confident managing project plans, budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
Has strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders.
Is comfortable working across multiple technical teams, business areas and external suppliers.
Can bring structure and direction to complex or ambiguous situations and maintain delivery momentum.
Is proactive, resilient and comfortable taking ownership of problems through to resolution.
Has practical experience of different delivery approaches, including Waterfall and Agile, and understands when to apply them appropriately.
Has strong commercial awareness and experience working with third-party technology suppliers.
Experience within Retail would be beneficial but isn’t essential. More important is your ability to quickly understand a complex organisation and successfully deliver technology change within it.
Experience delivering infrastructure change such as hosting, networks, cloud, data centre, workplace technology or technology migration/transformation projects would be advantageous.
