Joining Moderna means advancing mRNA science to transform medicine. Work with exceptional global teams on a broad pipeline and build a career that makes a real difference for patients.
Moderna is strengthening its international business services hub in Warsaw, supporting our growing global operations. We welcome professionals ready to help advance our mission and shape the future of mRNA medicines.
Moderna is seeking an experienced and commercially minded procurement and contracting professional to help shape how we manage agreements, strengthen contracting governance and enable efficient business partnerships across our global organization.
Working within our Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub (MESH) in Warsaw, you will oversee the commercial contract lifecycle, from initial requests and drafting through Legal review, negotiation, approvals, signature and downstream procurement activities, while supporting our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) capabilities. Joining a developing contract management team, you will combine hands-on contracting expertise with cross-functional stakeholder leadership, digital innovation and AI-enabled process improvements to build scalable, compliant and efficient contracting practices that support Moderna's continued growth and delivery of innovative mRNA medicines.
Here's What You'll Do:
Manage commercial contracting activities across the full contract lifecycle: Coordinate and manage agreements with a broad range of business partners, supporting contract development from initial request, drafting and revision through Legal review, negotiation, approval, signature, purchase requisition and invoicing. Ensure that contractual activities progress efficiently, accurately and in accordance with established Procurement, Legal and business requirements.
Coordinate incoming contract requests and Legal review workflows: Manage daily incoming contracting requests, promptly assigning agreements for review by Legal, tracking the progress of individual matters and coordinating signature processes. Maintain visibility of contracting priorities, identify potential bottlenecks and support timely resolution to ensure that business requirements are addressed without unnecessary delays.
Review, draft and edit a broad range of commercial agreements: Apply commercial contracting expertise to the preparation, review and revision of agreements supporting Moderna's global operations. Work across contract categories including professional services, software, drug substance, drug product, logistics and distribution, ensuring that agreements reflect applicable commercial terms, business requirements and relevant legal considerations.
Maintain and improve standardized contracting templates: Develop, review, update and maintain contract templates for Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Consulting Agreements, Supply Agreements, License Agreements and Distribution Agreements. Collaborate with Legal and Procurement stakeholders to ensure that templates remain aligned with evolving business needs, contractual requirements and established company standards.
Partner with Procurement Category Management to align contracting with commercial strategy: Work closely with Procurement Category Management to ensure that negotiated commercial terms, sourcing strategies and agreed business requirements are accurately reflected in contracts. Support the effective translation of procurement decisions into contractual documentation, helping protect business interests and maintain consistency between negotiation outcomes and executed agreements.
Support Contract Lifecycle Management systems and digital contracting workflows: Contribute to the effective operation, administration and continuous improvement of Moderna's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) capabilities. Apply contract administration best practices and support the use of CLM platforms, including tools such as Agiloft where applicable, to strengthen contract tracking, document management, workflow visibility and operational efficiency.
Strengthen contract governance, compliance and records management: Evaluate contracting records for appropriate retention, maintain organized and accurate documentation, and support compliance with company policies and applicable contractual requirements. Track contract compliance items and lifecycle milestones, ensuring that agreements and related records remain accessible, appropriately controlled and managed throughout their lifecycle.
Coordinate contracting communications and approvals: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain, review and exchange information, contractual documentation and legal materials required for contracting and approval processes. Facilitate effective coordination between Procurement, Legal, business partners and other relevant functions, ensuring that documentation and approvals progress in line with business priorities.
Build trusted relationships with global business stakeholders: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, coordinating contracting and reporting requirements while balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term business objectives. Provide clear communication, practical guidance and responsive support to help stakeholders navigate contracting processes effectively.
Drive contracting process improvements and operational efficiency: Identify opportunities to simplify contracting activities, reduce administrative complexity, improve turnaround times and strengthen consistency across contract administration processes. Challenge established ways of working where appropriate, introducing practical improvements and digital solutions that support more efficient and scalable contracting operations.
Develop and apply AI-enabled contracting solutions: Utilize and contribute to the development of AI contracting tools that improve efficiency across contract review, drafting, document analysis and contracting workflows. Explore opportunities to work with Generative AI-enabled capabilities to simplify repetitive activities, support contract information management and improve operational productivity, while respecting applicable confidentiality, information security, legal review and company governance requirements.
Develop contracting guidance and employee training: Create, maintain and deliver training materials that help Moderna employees understand contracting procedures, approval requirements, documentation standards and effective use of contracting tools. Promote consistent application of established processes and strengthen stakeholder accountability throughout the contracting lifecycle.
Manage multiple contracting priorities and ad hoc projects: Coordinate several agreements and contracting activities simultaneously, adapting to changing business priorities and maintaining momentum across different stages of the contract lifecycle. Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned, applying sound judgment, strong organizational skills and a results-oriented approach to deliver timely and effective outcomes.
Provide cross-functional contracting expertise and leadership: Operate as an experienced individual contributor, influencing stakeholders across Procurement, Legal and other global business functions without direct people-management responsibilities. Apply commercial knowledge, practical problem-solving and effective stakeholder engagement to coordinate activities, resolve challenges and support consistent contracting standards.
Maintain professional judgment, discretion and confidentiality: Handle sensitive commercial and contractual information with appropriate care, exercising ethical judgment, tact and diplomacy in interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain confidentiality, navigate complex or challenging situations professionally and ensure that contracting activities reflect Moderna's business standards and expectations.
