About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

[What the role is]
The officer will oversee the continuous improvement of the Postgraduate Certificate in Islam in Contemporary Societies (PCICS) and coordinate its operations across related workstreams. A major priority will be to lead the review and enhancement of PCICS arising from the programme evaluation, and oversee the subsequent implementation of approved enhancements. The officer will also oversee the academic governance and assessment aspects of the PCICS Capstone. In addition, the role supports ongoing programme monitoring, process improvement and management reporting, while keeping abreast of relevant developments and emerging trends to inform continuous improvement.
[What you will be working on]
1. Coordinate the review and enhancement of PCICS based on the programme evaluation completed in 2026, working with partner institutions, faculty and relevant stakeholders to review the programme structure, curriculum and related policies.
2. Coordinate the implementation of approved programme enhancements, working with relevant stakeholders to operationalise changes to the curriculum, programme delivery, processes and supporting arrangements, and monitor implementation for further refinement.
3. Oversee the academic governance and assessment aspects of the PCICS Capstone, including reviewing the academic feasibility of proposed projects, liaising with the Ethics Review Board, coordinating the academic appointment and deployment of research advisors and assessors, and managing Capstone assessment processes.
4. Maintain and periodically review established PCICS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that they remain current and aligned with programme requirements and operational processes.
5. Monitor key programme workstreams, timelines and deliverables, coordinating follow-up across relevant units and stakeholders and escalating issues where necessary to support timely delivery.
6. Contribute to the planning and development of SCIS Executive Programmes, working with the Manager, Executive Programmes and relevant stakeholders.
7. Provide secretariat and coordination support for PCICS meetings and management updates, including preparing meeting materials, documenting decisions and action items, monitoring follow-up, and preparing programme reports and updates as required.
8. Contribute to other unit, cluster-level initiatives, committees and workgroups as required.
[What we are looking for]
A recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in programme management and/or curriculum development/review within the education and training sector, such as within Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), training providers or similar organisations. Candidates with more extensive relevant experience and a demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects may be considered for appointment at the Senior Manager level.
Strong project management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, dependencies and deliverables.
Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with partner institutions, faculty and internal and external stakeholders.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate evaluation findings and stakeholder feedback into practical programme improvements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, meeting materials and management updates.
Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and follow through on deliverables.
