About the role
The Events & Charters Executive will become a key point of contact for Waiheke charter and group clients, taking bookings from initial enquiry or handover through planning, confirmation, service delivery and follow-up.
This role will see you working closely with our Operations team to turn customer requirements into transport plans that are practical, safe and achievable.
Reporting to the Head of Waiheke Bus Company. This role will involve coordinating corporate groups visiting the island, planning transport for a weddings or events, organising private transfers, building itineraries for a tour groups or arranging ferry connections
You’ll be responsible for developing external relationships with venues, accommodation providers, tourism operators, wedding and event planners and other local businesses, helping position Waiheke Bus Company as the preferred transport provider for events, tours and group movements on the island.
About you
We’re looking for someone who enjoys dealing with people, is highly organised and is comfortable taking ownership.
You’ll need to be able to build a strong relationship with a client or local business while also having the attention to detail required to make sure the operational plan works.
You’ll be a good communicator, practical problem solver and someone who can remain calm and responsive when plans change.
Commercial awareness is important too. This isn’t simply about administering existing bookings – we want someone who is prepared to get out, build relationships, identify opportunities and help grow the business.
You’ll ideally bring
• Proven experience in tourism, events, hospitality, transport, customer service, sales or operations
• Good knowledge of Waiheke and the businesses and venues that make the island unique.
• Excellent organization, planning and attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and confidence identifying new business opportunities.
• Confidence working directly with clients and external stakeholders.
