About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Company Description Powersutra is a contemporary fashion brand focused on professional workwear, addressing the long-ignored need for high-quality, well-fitting, and customizable office wear. Founded in 2020 by Dr. Pooja Malhotra, an experienced medical professional and fashion enthusiast, the brand was created to eliminate the frustration of finding stylish yet practical corporate clothing. Powersutra emphasizes individuality, fit, and comfort over assembly-line products, offering designs tailored to real, diverse body types. The company is personally led and managed by Dr. Malhotra, ensuring close attention to detail from concept to final stitch, and fostering a culture of creativity, craftsmanship, and customer-centric design.
Role Description The Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating professional workwear collections that reflect Powersutra’s brand identity and focus on fit, functionality, and style. Day-to-day tasks include developing design concepts, preparing sketches and technical drawings, selecting fabrics and trims, collaborating with pattern makers and production teams, and ensuring quality and consistency from sampling through final production. The role also involves staying updated on fashion trends, incorporating customer feedback into designs, and supporting photoshoots or marketing campaigns with design input. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Qualifications
Strong fashion design skills, including sketching, technical drawing, and developing garment concepts for professional and corporate wear.
Experience with pattern making, garment construction, and working closely with sampling and production teams.
Proficiency in design and illustration software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other fashion design tools).
Ability to research trends, analyze customer needs, and translate insights into practical, stylish, and inclusive designs.
Attention to detail in fit, fabric selection, trims, and finishing to ensure high-quality, comfortable, and durable garments.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work on-site in Gurugram and coordinate with merchandising and marketing teams.
Relevant education in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field; prior experience in women’s workwear or apparel design is an advantage.
Portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and a focus on real-world wearability and body diversity.
