RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Title: Junior Staff Accountant
Department: Accounting
Reports to: VP of Finance
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:
This position provides the ideal entry into the accounting field at Burkert. A strong numbers affinity and outstanding computer skills will be necessary to support and enable efficient accounting and finance processes at Burkert USA Corporation (USA) and Burkert Canada Inc. (Canada). This position operates with limited daily supervision for routine work and is able to identify when direction is required and respond easily to new assignments. This position is responsible for providing support to the VP of Finance in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties will be assigned as required)
Data Analysis
Assist Staff Accountants A/R in day-to-day activities
Assist A/R with meaningful reports
Assist with master data maintenance
Assist with audits of the company’s accounts both internally and externally
Assist with annual budget preparation
Evaluate current processes for efficiency and recommend improvements
Participation in accounting specific projects

REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Degree in Accounting or related field of study or a minimum of 3 years accounting experience, or suitable combination of formal education and experience
Thorough knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices is required
Strong analytical skills
Strong computer skills
Knowledge of PowerBI, Excel helpful but not required
Knowledge of SAP helpful but not required
Skills:
Day to day work activities are prioritized appropriately within work routines
Excellent organization, time-management, administrative and computer skills (including Microsoft word, excel and outlook)
Excellent oral, written and communication skills
Able to work closely with team members
Attention to detail and a strong customer service focus
English required. German and French are helpful but not required
