About Fervo Energy
Fervo Energy (NASDAQ: FRVO) is a modern power company developing next-generation geothermal resources to meet the growing demand for affordable, reliable, 24/7 carbon-free energy. Our mission is to transform geothermal into America’s most dependable and affordable source of clean, around-the-clock power. By combining innovations in horizontal drilling, fiber-optic sensing, and advanced reservoir engineering, Fervo has developed a repeatable approach to building utility-scale enhanced geothermal systems. Our flagship Cape Station development in Utah is planned to deliver 500 MW of firm, carbon-free power, and we are advancing a development pipeline of more than 50 GW. Join us and work alongside world-class engineers, geoscientists, operators, project builders, and business leaders working to make geothermal a cornerstone of a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy future.
Position Description
Fervo Energy is the world’s leading developer of enhanced geothermal systems, deploying directional drilling, fiber optic sensing, and advanced well completions to deliver firm carbon-free power 24/7. Fervo is scaling rapidly across the U.S. to meet growing demand from utilities, industrials, and data centers for clean, dispatchable electricity. Every plant rejects heat through air-cooled condensers (ACCs). They are one of the largest equipment packages on each plant, and their performance sets how much power the plant makes on a hot day.
As Supply Chain Specialist for air-cooled condensers, you will own this category. Fervo buys ACCs directly from OEMs. You will set the strategy for how we buy them, and you will run the packages yourself from first market engagement through contract and PO. This is a strategy role as much as a hands-on procurement role. You will be a thought partner to supply chain, engineering, and construction leadership on how ACC decisions affect cost, schedule, and plant output. You will also support other equipment categories as needed, including heat exchangers and pumps.
You will report to the Supply Chain Manager, Power. This is an individual contributor role.
Responsibilities
Category Strategy
Build Fervo’s category strategy for ACCs: which OEMs we qualify, how we keep the category competitive, how much shop capacity we reserve, and when we use frame agreements instead of buying plant by plant.
Grow a competitive U.S. supply base, including OEMs that are new to geothermal or ORC service.
Track the market, including OEM backlogs and shop capacity, aluminum and steel pricing, lead times on fans, motors, and drives, consolidation among suppliers, and competing demand from data centers and other industries. Turn what you learn into recommendations leadership can act on.
Build should-cost models for an ACC bay so we know what a fair price looks like before bids come in.
Specifications, Technical, and Construction
Work with engineering to understand how ACC design choices drive cost, lead time, plant output, and the number of OEMs that can bid. Design ambient temperature, number of bays, tube and fin type, fan and drive selection, noise limits, and pressure code requirements all matter.
Understand the tradeoffs between stick-built and modular ACC delivery, including site labor, cranes and laydown, shipping limits, and schedule, and bring construction into that decision before award.
Keep the ACC bay package and the separately procured support steel package aligned on design, schedule, and delivery.
Build quality requirements, such as inspection and test plans, pressure testing, code documentation, and shop inspections, into RFQs so they are priced up front.
Build tariff and domestic content requirements into sourcing decisions.
Market to Contract
Own ACC packages from market engagement through award: prequalification, RFQ, technical and commercial bid evaluation, negotiation, and PO.
Write RFQs that produce comparable bids, including a common design and performance basis, a clear scope split between the ACC bays and the support steel, defined interfaces, and when lead time starts.
Negotiate commercial terms including price basis and escalation, lead time and capacity commitments, payment milestones, delivery sequencing, warranty, and liquidated damages for delay and for performance shortfalls.
Negotiate performance guarantees for thermal performance, fan power, and noise, and agree up front on how they will be tested in the field.
Manage contracts after award, including tracking OEM progress and deliveries against schedule, handling change orders and claims, and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors.
Other Categories
Support procurement of heat exchangers, pumps, and other equipment as needed, using the same approach.
Qualifications
Required
There is no single background we’re looking for. You might come from a commercial or proposals role at an ACC or air-cooled heat exchanger OEM, an equipment buying role at an EPC, utility, or independent power producer, or an engineering role that grew into procurement. What matters most is that you know this equipment and this industry well. Strong candidates will have several of the following qualifications:
A working understanding of how ACC and air-cooled heat exchanger OEMs design, fabricate, price, and schedule their work, and what drives their lead times.
3+ years of Experience buying, selling, or estimating major mechanical equipment, ideally ACCs, air-cooled heat exchan
