Associate Project Manager (Contract)

Work with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs for IT projects.
• Maintain practical project trackers, task lists, schedules, status reports, decisions, dependencies, risks, and open actions.
• Monitor delivery against agreed timelines, follow up on commitments, and escalate schedule, capacity, or delivery concerns early.
• Coordinate day-to-day work across distributed offshore team members, Calgary-based product, technology, and operations groups, and vendors.
• Provide regular, concise project status updates to stakeholders and project leads.
• Coordinate with other project managers or coordinators where projects share resources or dependencies.
• Organize and facilitate team meetings and status check-ins, with clear actions and follow-through.
• Log and track defects and technical or operational issues, route them to the appropriate teams, and follow up through resolution.
• Coordinate rollout of technical changes and support post-launch follow-up as required.
What is expected from the candidate's current role/profile?
• 3-5+ years of IT project coordination or project management experience, preferably supporting technology projects.
• Experience using lightweight or agile-style project tracking practices without over-engineering delivery processes.
• Strong written and verbal English communication, attention to detail, and ability to provide clear stakeholder updates.
• Ability to work independently across time zones with limited overlap with onshore teams.
• Strong organization, dependability, follow-through, and results orientation.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships with distributed teams and vendors.
• Collaborative, composed, responsible, flexible, and adaptable to shifting priorities.
• Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
