About the Role
MSS Security is seeking professional, reliable and customer-focused Terminal Security Officers to join our team at Hobart International Airport.
This role provides a visible security presence throughout the airport terminal and surrounding precinct.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct security patrols of the terminal, forecourt, aprons, airport roads and car parks.
Monitor and report security, safety and operational concerns and respond promptly and professionally to security incidents.
Apply effective verbal deescalation and conflict resolution techniques when responding to challenging or escalating behaviours.
Engage respectfully with passengers experiencing distress and provide first aid when required.
Maintain accurate security logs, patrol records and incident reports.
Ideal candidates will have:
Confidence applying deescalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour without unnecessarily escalating a situation.
Patience, empathy and the ability to communicate respectfully with vulnerable or distressed people.
Previous experience in security, aviation, transport, mental health support or another public-facing operational environment will be highly regarded.
Requirements:
Full Australian working rights.
A current Tasmanian Security Agent Licence.
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Ability to undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.​
