About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an IP Telephony Engineer based in Brazil.
We are seeking a senior-level IP Telephony Engineer to support enterprise telephony operations, platform transitions, and compliance initiatives in a fully remote environment. The role focuses on PCI DSS compliance, Verint recording platform onboarding and support, and the evolution of cloud-based contact center technologies. You will help design, implement, and validate security controls across call recording and interactive voice response (IVR) systems. You will also provide technical guidance during the transition from Cisco telephony infrastructure to the Content Guru platform. Working closely with security, compliance, and international business teams, you will help maintain operational continuity while ensuring regulatory requirements are met. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines deep telephony expertise with strong ownership, architectural judgment, and the ability to deliver independently in a complex enterprise environment.
Accountabilities
PCI DSS Compliance: Lead compliance activities for the US telephony and call recording environment, ensuring configurations meet applicable PCI DSS requirements and remain audit-ready.
Verint Platform Management: Support the configuration, onboarding, and ongoing operation of the Verint recording and compliance platform.
Site and User Onboarding: Manage the onboarding of new sites, systems, and users within the Verint environment as part of the compliance program.
Security Controls and Validation: Design, test, and validate PCI DSS controls across call recording and IVR platforms to support secure and compliant operations.
Audit and Remediation Support: Collaborate with compliance and security teams to document findings, coordinate remediation activities, and maintain appropriate evidence for audits.
Cisco Telephony Engineering: Provide engineering support and system design expertise for Cisco IP telephony infrastructure, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), and voice gateways.
Platform Migration: Support the transition from legacy Cisco telephony infrastructure to the Content Guru cloud contact center platform, helping ensure service continuity and effective knowledge transfer.
Content Guru Platform Support: Develop technical expertise in the Content Guru environment and contribute to its ongoing support, engineering, and operational maturity.
Architecture and Technical Guidance: Advise on telephony architecture and design decisions across multiple platforms throughout the transition period.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with international stakeholders across engineering, security, compliance, and business teams to deliver technical outcomes and resolve operational challenges.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on professional experience.
Senior Telephony Engineering Experience: Extensive experience in IP telephony engineering, including system design, architecture decisions, and enterprise-scale implementations.
Cisco Voice Technologies: Principal-level hands-on experience with Cisco UCM, CUBE, voice gateways, and related telephony infrastructure.
Compliance Expertise: Demonstrated experience delivering compliance-focused technical initiatives, preferably involving PCI DSS or a comparable regulated framework.
Verint Platform Experience: Practical experience with Verint recording and compliance solutions, including PCI DSS control implementation, configuration, and system onboarding.
PCI DSS Knowledge: Working knowledge of PCI DSS requirements as applied to telephony, call recording, and IVR environments.
Cloud Platform Migration: Experience supporting enterprise platform migrations or technology transitions, particularly from legacy telephony systems to cloud-based Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) solutions.
Content Guru or Comparable CCaaS Experience: Familiarity with Content Guru or another cloud contact center platform, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and operational processes.
English Proficiency: Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to work directly with US-based business and compliance stakeholders and participate in interviews in English.
International Collaboration: Experience working with multicultural, geographically distributed teams across different time zones.
Autonomy and Ownership: Strong accountability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently manage complex compliance deliverables with minimal supervision.
Preferred Certifications: PCI DSS-related or Verint certifications, PCI DSS certification, or experience supporting audits in collaboration with a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA).
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Cisco voice certifications, such as CCNP Collaboration or CCIE Collaboration, and experience in insurance or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
Benefits
Fully Remote Work: Work remotely from Brazil, with flexibility to collaborate across international teams.
Full-Time Engagement: Full-time professional engagement under a Brazilian PJ contracting arrangement.
Negotiable Compensation: Salary or contract compensation is negotiable.
Senior-Level Scope: Opportunity to contribute to enterprise telephony architecture, compliance initiatives, and large-scale platform transitions.
Technical Development: Exposure to cloud contact center technologies, recording and compliance platforms, and complex enterprise infrastructure.
