About the Role
We are looking for a creative, organised and detail-oriented Digital Content & Operations Executive to support our digital publishing, visual content production, social media distribution, administrative operations and football data management.
This is a multi-skilled role for someone who can transform sports stories into engaging digital content while helping maintain the systems and workflows that keep our media platform running efficiently.
Working closely with the editorial team, you will help ensure that Blaqsport's articles, podcasts, videos and social media content are published consistently, professionally and in line with our brand identity.
Key Responsibilities1. Graphics Design & Visual Content
Design graphics promoting articles, match reports, interviews and other Blaqsport content using Canva.
Create matchday announcements, full-time results, score updates, player features, quote cards and other sports-related visuals.
Adapt designs for Instagram, Facebook, X and other relevant platforms.
Maintain consistent branding, visual quality and presentation across channels.
Develop and use reusable templates to support regular publishing.
Make revisions promptly and ensure published graphics are accurate and professionally presented.
2. Social Media & Digital Publishing
Repurpose website articles into engaging visual posts and captions.
Prepare, organise and schedule content across relevant social media platforms.
Upload and format articles and other content on Blaqsport.com.
Support the publication of podcast episodes, videos and other digital media.
Maintain content calendars and coordinate publishing schedules.
Assist with monitoring engagement and identifying opportunities to improve audience growth.
Ensure social media content is consistent with Blaqsport's editorial direction and brand identity.
3. Administration & Operations
Organise digital files, content records and administrative documents.
Maintain task trackers, content calendars and basic operational records.
Support routine correspondence and editorial coordination.
Follow up on assigned tasks and help keep workflows on schedule.
Assist with routine administrative duties that support daily operations.
Help streamline workflows between writing, design, publishing and production.
4. Football Data Management
Enter and update player, club, fixture, match result and transfer information using Microsoft Excel or designated databases.
Maintain accurate, organised records and flag missing or inconsistent information.
Record source links and update dates where required.
Follow agreed data-entry standards and protect confidential information.
Support Blaqsport's developing football data and sports intelligence initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Demonstrable graphic design skills, supported by a portfolio of relevant work.
Familiarity with Canva and digital content creation.
Good written communication skills and the ability to prepare engaging social media captions.
Basic Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills.
An understanding of social media platforms, content scheduling and audience engagement.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and time management.
The ability to work independently, collaborate remotely and meet agreed deadlines.
A genuine interest in African sports, football and digital storytelling.
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of WordPress and website content management, including uploading articles, formatting posts, adding images and preparing content for publication.
Experience with social media scheduling, digital analytics or administrative support.
Familiarity with podcast and video publishing workflows.
An interest in football statistics, player databases and sports technology.
Previous experience in sports media, digital publishing or a similar role is beneficial. Candidates with strong practical skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Tools & Working Environment
Blaqsport provides access to Canva Teams and Microsoft 365 to support collaborative design, document management, spreadsheets and content organisation.
The successful candidate will work towards agreed deliverables and publishing schedules, with performance assessed on design quality, accuracy, reliability, organisation, consistency and contribution to Blaqsport's digital growth.
Compensation & Benefits
Monthly salary: ₦70,000.
HMO coverage: Health Maintenance Organisation benefits, subject to the applicable provider's eligibility requirements, coverage and terms.
Paid annual leave: In accordance with applicable Nigerian employment law and the terms of employment.
Performance review: A formal review after the first three months.
