Sift Clips
Annual salary: $110,000 USD
Benefits: Health, vision, and dental insurance; unlimited PTO
Reports to: Marketing Director
Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional travel to company headquarters in Orlando, Florida
The role
Sift Clips (https://siftclips.com) helps video professionals find the media they need and stay focused on the edit. With visual, face, and speech recognition for all your footage, Sift makes media searchable right inside Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
We’re looking for a Managing Video Editor to lead the creative execution of Sift’s marketing and promotional video content. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can set a clear creative direction, develop other editors, and deliver work that communicates the product’s value with precision and confidence.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, you’ll connect marketing priorities with compelling visual storytelling. You’ll lead a team producing campaign content, product demonstrations, tutorials, and social video, while contributing your own editing expertise to key projects. You’ll also bring an editor’s perspective to product development, translating practical experience with Sift into specific, useful feedback.
What you will own
Creative leadership and editing
- Lead video projects from the initial brief through concept development, editing, review, and final delivery.
- Translate marketing objectives into clear creative approaches, with a defined audience, message, and purpose.
- Stay closely involved in the work, editing key pieces and helping solve challenging creative or technical problems.
- Give specific, constructive feedback that strengthens storytelling, pacing, visual clarity, sound, and overall execution.
- Help the team make thoughtful creative decisions rather than simply work through revisions.
Marketing and product storytelling
- Develop marketing and promotional videos that show how Sift fits into real editing workflows.
- Create product demonstrations that make features understandable and connect them to practical outcomes for editors, showing how to search for footage with Sift and bring it into an Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve editing workflow.
- Shape tutorials and educational content that are accurate, focused, and easy to follow.
- Adapt concepts across campaign, website, and social formats while preserving a consistent message and creative standard.
- Work with the Marketing Director to balance brand storytelling, product education, and campaign priorities.
Production standards and team management
- Establish clear expectations for briefs, project organization, review stages, and delivery requirements.
- Plan workloads, communicate priorities, and identify dependencies before they put quality or deadlines at risk.
- Maintain high standards for picture, sound, graphics, captions, and final exports.
- Build organized, repeatable workflows for source media, project files, version control, and reusable assets.
- Coach editors, encourage thoughtful collaboration, and create an environment where feedback improves the work.
- Keep stakeholders informed about progress, tradeoffs, and decisions that need their input.
Product feedback and workflow development
- Apply your proficiency with Sift in practical editing scenarios, demonstrate effective search and media discovery workflows, and evaluate how they support creative decision-making.
- Identify friction points, unexpected behavior, and opportunities to improve the experience.
- Provide informed product feedback grounded in a strong working knowledge of Sift, using clear examples, relevant context, and reproducible steps where appropriate.
- Distinguish individual preferences from broader workflow needs, and explain the reasoning behind recommendations.
- Keep product-facing content aligned with the capabilities being demonstrated.
What you will bring
- Proficiency with Sift workflows and the ability to demonstrate how you search for footage and use it in an Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve editing project.
- A strong portfolio of marketing, promotional, product-focused, or educational video work.
- Experience guiding editors, managing creative projects, and maintaining quality across multiple deliverables.
- Excellent editorial judgment, including a strong understanding of narrative structure, pacing, sound, and visual communication.
- Hands-on proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or both.
- The ability to explain software clearly and turn detailed product functionality into engaging, understandable content.
- A practical approach to planning, prioritization, feedback, and problem-solving.
- Clear communication with both creative and non-creative collaborators.
- Curiosity about editing tools and the ability to turn firsthand workflow observations into useful product feedback.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate Sift workflows during the interview and explain their editing decisions.
What success looks like
The team has clear priorities and understands what strong work looks like. Projects move through production with organized files, purposeful reviews, and consistent delivery standards. Sift’s videos communicate the product accurately, demonstrate relevant workflows, and give their intended audiences a clear reason to engage.
You contribute directly to important edits, help other editors do stronger work, and provide product feedback grounded in actual use. Your leadership brings together creative quality, reliable execution, and a detailed understanding of the editor’s experience.
Portfolio and screening
Please include your portfolio and a brief description of your contribution to selected projects, particularly where you led other editors, shaped creative direction, or explained a product or workflow.
Be prepared to demonstrate a Sift workflow from footage search through use in an Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve editing project. Explain your search approach, footage selections, and editing decisions, and discuss informed product feedback based on your experience. Product access and preparation time will be provided for the interview demonstration; purchasing Sift is not required to apply.
