About Monetize.com
Monetize.com helps publishers monetize content through search, contextual, native, and commerce and affiliate solutions. We are hiring a publisher business development specialist to build and close partnerships with publishers serving retail and shopping audiences.
The opportunity
You will own new publisher acquisition from the first conversation through negotiation, signed agreement, and coordination of launch. Your focus will be publishers with audiences researching products, comparing options, discovering deals, or preparing to buy. You will connect their content and audience intent with a commercially sound monetization opportunity, while understanding how a proposed partnership fits their reader experience.
What you will do
• Build and prioritize a prospect list of shopping, product review, comparison, deals, and other commerce publishers with relevant audiences and inventory.
• Identify owners and commercial decision-makers, develop outreach, qualify opportunities, and lead discovery conversations that establish the publisher's goals and existing monetization approach.
• Evaluate content categories, audience intent, traffic sources, inventory control, and available performance information before recommending a partnership structure.
• Present a clear business case, manage objections, and negotiate commercial terms that work for the publisher and Monetize.com.
• Own the closing process, including follow-up, internal coordination, and agreement completion. Work with the relevant teams to define launch requirements and keep the publisher informed.
• Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast. Document decision-makers, deal assumptions, next steps, expected timing, and reasons opportunities advance or stall.
What you bring
• A demonstrated record of personally sourcing, negotiating, and closing publisher partnerships in retail, commerce content, affiliate publishing, search, or a closely related performance channel.
• An understanding of how product research and shopping intent translate into publisher monetization opportunities across search, contextual, native, and content-to-commerce placements.
• Commercial judgment about cost-per-click, cost-per-acquisition, revenue share, and related models, including when the available evidence does not support a deal.
• The ability to discuss tracking, reporting, placement requirements, and integration dependencies clearly with commercial and technical colleagues.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation, written communication, and organization skills. You can independently move a complex opportunity forward and ask for specialist input when needed.
• A practical approach to traffic quality and audience transparency. Relevant publisher relationships are helpful, alongside evidence that you can build new ones.
How success will be measured
Success means creating qualified opportunities, closing suitable publishers, and helping signed partnerships launch. We will also consider the commercial contribution and quality of the partnerships, the reliability of your forecast, and the accuracy of the expectations set during the sale. Specific goals will be established for the role.
