Founders Office Intern - Business Development

If you're an engineer who wants to go beyond technology development and understand how products
are evaluated and procured in India's defence ecosystem, this is an opportunity for you.
Defmate builds sovereign AI for India's defence forces. As a Business Development Intern, you will
drive tender submissions, evaluate new opportunities and use AI to automate business development
workflows.

Designation: Intern (with PPO opportunity)
What you'll do
Tenders and bids (50%)
• Identify and shortlist relevant tenders on GeM, CPPP, defence procurement portals and iDEX
challenges
• Understand the technical requirements of each tender and map them to Defmate's capabilities
• Prepare solution documents, technical proposals and compliance matrices tailored to each tender
• Draft pre-bid queries and manage deadlines, submissions and outcomes
Opportunity evaluation and presentations (20%)
• Assess new opportunities on strategic fit, effort and win probability, and recommend whether to
pursue each one
• Create capability decks and customer presentations that translate technical capability into clear
value
AI-led automation (30%)
• Build automated tender discovery that monitors portals and flags relevant opportunities
• Use AI to extract requirements from RFPs and generate first-draft compliance matrices
• Develop a reusable library of past solution documents that cuts bid preparation from days to hours
• Automate the generation of proposals and presentations from standard templates
• Identify and automate other repetitive tasks across the business development function
What we're looking for
• An engineering degree (B.Tech/B.E. or equivalent), completed or in progress
• A working understanding of how AI systems function and where they fall short
• Hands-on experience building workflows with AI tools; Python, APIs or no-code platforms are a
strong plus
• Close attention to detail, since tender submissions leave no room for error
• Clear judgement on which opportunities are worth pursuing
• Ownership from first draft to final submission
