Interior desginer head

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Interior Design to lead our design department, manage the design team, and oversee the complete interior design process from concept development to final design approval and execution coordination.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in residential interiors, modular furniture, space planning, material selection, design presentations, and team leadership. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining design quality, improving team productivity, managing client expectations, and ensuring all projects meet the company's design standards, budgets, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities1. Design Leadership & Strategy
Lead and manage the complete Interior Design department.
Establish design standards, workflows, and quality benchmarks.
Oversee design concepts, space planning, material selection, and design development.
Ensure designs are functional, aesthetically appealing, technically feasible, and budget-conscious.
Introduce new design ideas, materials, and solutions aligned with current industry trends.
2. Team Management
Lead Interior Designers, Senior Designers, Junior Designers, 2D Designers, and 3D Visualisers.
Allocate projects and responsibilities based on team capacity and expertise.
Review team performance, productivity, and design deliverables.
Mentor and train designers to improve their technical and creative skills.
Conduct regular design reviews and team meetings.
Maintain accountability and ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
3. Client Meetings & Design Approvals
Participate in important client meetings and high-value project presentations.
Review design concepts, layouts, material selections, and 3D visualisations before presentation.
Ensure client requirements, preferences, and budgets are accurately understood.
Handle complex design-related client concerns and escalations.
Improve design approval timelines and minimise unnecessary revisions.
4. Interior Design & Technical Review
Oversee design development for:
Complete Home Interiors
Modular Kitchens
Modular Wardrobes
TV Units
Bedrooms & Living Rooms
Pooja Units
False Ceilings
Customized Furniture
Office Interiors
Commercial Interiors
Review and approve 2D layouts, elevations, sections, working drawings, 3D renders, walkthroughs, material boards, and furniture specifications.
5. Quality Control & Execution Coordination
Ensure design accuracy and consistency across all project deliverables.
Verify that approved designs are technically feasible for production and site execution.
Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Project Management, and Installation teams.
Resolve design-related issues during project execution.
Reduce drawing errors, design revisions, material mismatches, and execution rework.
Ensure the final execution aligns with approved designs and specifications.
6. Material & Product Development
Maintain strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, and furniture.
Evaluate new products, materials, and design solutions.
Coordinate with Procurement and Vendors to explore suitable materials and accessories.
Ensure material selections align with quality standards, client preferences, and project budgets.
7. Process Development & Reporting
Develop standard operating procedures for the design department.
Establish project design timelines and approval workflows.
Monitor design turnaround time and pending approvals.
Maintain project documentation, design records, and team performance reports.
Identify opportunities to improve design productivity and operational efficiency.
Report design progress, challenges, and performance metrics to management.

Qualification
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
7–12 years of relevant experience in interior design, including team leadership and project management.
Candidates with experience managing a design department in a residential interior, modular furniture, or design-and-build company will be preferred.
