Founding Engineer – Kubernetes

SeedlingLabs is an AI-native product company. We build Forgebench, an agent management layer that gives enterprises governance and cost control over every AI agent call, on top of their existing stack. We also build Sprout, an AI academic OS live in 10,000+ classrooms across India, and Orchard, an agentic QA platform. We have offices in Bengaluru, Koppal and Spokane, WA.
The role
As we scale Forgebench, we’re hiring a founding engineer. The product already runs end to end with design partners, so it’s early enough that you’ll shape the architecture and real enough that you’re building on something live.
What you’ll do
Own a product area end to end: design, build, ship and run it in production
Ship every week, starting in week one
Join customer calls, hear problems first-hand, and build the fix
Deploy and debug in customer environments you can’t simply SSH into
Make real calls on what we build, adopt or delete
Must have
4+ years shipping software people actually used
Production Kubernetes experience: you’ve deployed, debugged and operated real workloads (this is the one hard requirement)
Strong in at least one backend language, and comfortable touching frontend or infra when needed
Solid relational database skills
Clear writing and evidence-based debugging
Nice to have
Helm and Terraform, especially shipping into someone else’s environment
Multi-tenant SaaS, security or infra-heavy products
AI/LLM exposure (helpful, not required)
Experience at an early-stage startup
Our stack
Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, pgvector, React, Next.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, AWS, Temporal, Keycloak, Prometheus and Grafana. We hire for judgment, not keywords, and engineers from Go, Java and Rust have ramped up within a month.
