Remote Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber)

We place independent prescribers to manage remote clinical caseloads in GP practices. You handle structured medication reviews, long-term conditions, medication requests and queries, and prescribing reconciliation. Work from home within the practice’s own system, with payment by the hour, patient request, document or review. A clinical lead is available for support.
What you will do
Reviews: Conduct structured medication reviews and prescribe appropriate changes.
Conditions: Review long-term conditions against NICE guidance.
Requests: Assess and action medication requests and queries.
Reconciliation: Reconcile discharges and clinical letters requiring a prescriber.
What we are looking for
Registration: GPhC registration with the independent prescriber annotation.
Experience: Twelve months or more prescribing in UK general practice.
Qualification: The CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway, completed, or an equivalent diploma.
Systems: Proficiency in EMIS Web or SystmOne, with a working NHS Smartcard.
Indemnity: Your own professional indemnity cover.
Workspace: A private workspace, reliable connection and your own computer.
Enhanced DBS: An enhanced DBS check with both barred lists (we arrange it, and the fee is yours).
What you get
Monthly pay: Log your work in your online hub as you go. Each month, we send a statement showing your work and earnings, then pay you from it. We self-bill, so you raise no invoice.
Flexible work: Each placement has a statement of work setting out the tasks, volume and agreed rate, which you can accept or decline. Practices work 08:00 to 18:30, Monday to Friday, but some tasks can be completed at any hour.
Practice access: We arrange access to each practice’s clinical system. Connect through our NHS VPN, for a monthly fee taken from your pay statement, or use your own approved connection.
Clinical support: You have a named contact at Primary Care Solutions for practical matters and a clinical lead for escalation. We are a small team, so you deal directly with decision-makers.
Ongoing work: This is not a short-term gap to fill. You can take on more practices and varied work over time.

The role needs an enhanced DBS check with both barred lists, which we arrange. A criminal record does not in itself prevent you from working with us.
