Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer (II) to join our team at NCR VOYIX Corporation. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support our advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will work with various data sources and technologies to ensure data quality, accessibility, and reliability.
Job Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading from diverse sources (e.g., relational databases, APIs, streaming data).
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java, and data orchestration tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Implement and enforce data governance, data quality, and data security standards.
• Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the selection and evaluation of new data technologies and tools.
• Document data architectures, data flows, and technical specifications.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of data warehousing and data lake solutions.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost-effectiveness.
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Experience with at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Snowflake, Data Factory, BigQuery).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and techniques.
• Understanding of data modeling principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Knowledge of data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis) is a plus.
