Position: Legal Citation Specialist (Law Students)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50 - $80/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10 40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
Review existing Bluebook grading rubrics to identify unclear rules
Identify edge cases that rubrics don t currently cover
Create sample cite-checking tasks with realistic errors
Build tasks across various citation types and difficulty levels
Apply Bluebook rules consistently across all submissions
Flag ambiguous cases to project coordinators for clarification
Deliver assigned work on schedule and meet quality requirements
Requirements
Must be a current or recent law student or graduate
Hands-on experience with Bluebook citation is necessary
Familiarity with law journal editing or cite-checking roles
Strong analytical skills to explain citation errors
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Experience with detailed review work for extended periods
Knowledge of citation types, formatting, and edits
