Role objective:
Produce clean, natural-sounding audiobook chapters from raw narration using Pro Tools.
Key responsibilities:
Remove mistakes, false starts, unwanted takes, and unnecessary gaps.
Clean clicks, pops, mouth noise, and other distracting defects.
Maintain natural pauses, breathing, pacing, room tone, and continuity.
Use clip editing, trimming, nudging, fades, crossfades, clip gain, and playlist management.
Organize sessions, maintain version control, perform self-QC, and export chapters.
Required skills:
Pro Tools, dialogue editing, critical listening, audio cleanup, file management, and export workflows. Knowledge of iZotope RX is preferred where permitted.
Success measures:
Clean edits, no missing or repeated words, consistent audio, correct exports, and fewer avoidable QC returns.
