Job Purpose
We are on a mission to build and deliver clinically safe, evidence-driven AI that expands access to trusted mental health support and improves outcomes at scale. Our vision is to reshape the future of mental healthcare so people everywhere can feel better and live fuller lives, and we need exceptional engineers to help us get there.
As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the engineering systems that power ieso’s AI-driven digital therapy platform. Working at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, you will be instrumental in delivering agentic, LLM-based features into production and ensuring the engineering infrastructure underpinning our AI models is robust, scalable, and maintainable.
What you’ll do
Build the agentic AI systems at the heart of ieso’s digital therapy product, including multi-agent orchestration using frameworks such as LangGraph.
Lead the evolution of our conversational AI architecture, moving from legacy technology to modern agentic frameworks that accelerate delivery and unlock new capabilities.
Create fast, reliable inference integrations that reduce latency and make AI-powered conversations feel more responsive.
Partner with AI scientists and researchers to turn promising prototypes into robust, production-ready software.
Shape how we monitor AI in production, building the telemetry and observability tooling that protects quality and reliability.
Champion strong engineering practices and collaborate effectively with scientists whose primary focus may be research rather than engineering rigour.
Mentor and support fellow engineers, helping them grow their technical capability and confidence.
Keep us at the forefront of AI engineering, identifying advances in LLMs, agentic systems and LLMOps that can meaningfully strengthen our platform and ways of working.
What you’ll bring
What you’ll need:
An agile mindset and the confidence to make progress when requirements are evolving or not yet fully defined.
A strong track record of delivering software in complex, fast-moving environments.
Excellent programming skills and hands-on experience building production-grade software systems.
Practical experience with LLMs, generative AI or modern AI engineering, such as prompt engineering, LLM APIs or agentic frameworks.
Enthusiasm for the rapid changes AI is bringing to software engineering, including AI-assisted development tools and evolving engineering practices.
The ability to mentor others, see the bigger picture and make pragmatic engineering trade-offs.
A genuine desire to use technology for good and help improve access to mental health care.
An interest in data and in deploying AI systems safely and effectively within clinical settings.
Even better if you have:
Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain or similar.
Experience building coding agents or working with AI-assisted development tooling.
Experience deploying and operating LLMs or machine-learning models in production using LLMOps or MLOps practices.
Experience with Azure services such as Azure ML, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure DevOps.
Experience with message brokers and real-time data pipelines.
Experience working in a regulated sector such as healthcare or financial services.
Experience delivering software in a research or clinical environment.
A BSc or higher qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
Why Join Us?
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role. We operate to the highest standards of clinical safety, compliance, and reliability, because the people using our platform are managing real mental health challenges. If you are energised by complex technical problems and motivated by meaningful real-world impact, we would love to hear from you!
What we offer: Aviva private medical · Medicash health cash plan · Life assurance (3x salary) · 5% matched pension · 25 days holiday + 3 days Christmas closure + option to buy 5 more · Will writing, mortgage advice and retail discounts.
How to apply
We’d love to hear from candidates who are genuinely excited about this role and ieso’s mission. To express your interest, please submit your CV in the first instance. We’ll then be in touch with details of how to share a short video as part of your application. You don’t need to submit a video at this stage, but we will only consider your application once we’ve received both your CV and video. Please apply only if you’re willing to complete this step.
The video should be no more than five minutes long, recorded in one take, with no editing needed, and answer these three questions:
Why do you want to work at ieso?
Tell us about something you’ve built or delivered that would help ieso achieve its mission, and explain how.
What’s something new in AI you’ve recently tried or learned, and what did you do with it?
We’re interested in your thinking, not production quality. You’re welcome to prepare what you want to say, but please speak in your own words. Reading from an AI-generated script, or submitting an AI-generated or AI-edited video, will mean we’re unable to take your application forward.
We’ll process your personal information, including your CV and any video you submit, for recruitment purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy
